Septeo acquires MICE platform Backyou to strengthen European hospitality offering

French business software publisher Septeo has acquired Backyou, a cloud-based sales and management platform for meetings, incentives, conferences and events (MICE) groups. The acquisition adds what Septeo describes as a missing link to its hospitality software portfolio. Backyou's 30-person team will join Septeo Hospitality, with its technology to be integrated into Septeo's property management and central reservation systems. The platform currently serves over 2,000 properties across 32 countries. Backyou will continue operating as an open platform. CEO Antoine de Corson will lead the company and oversee Septeo's MICE division. The platform offers end-to-end digital workflow management for groups and events, including AI features for sales and operations support. Septeo Hospitality was formed in 2023 following Septeo's acquisition of Sequoiasoft.

Septeo acquires Lexbase to integrate legal databases and AI into management software

Septeo has acquired Lexbase, a legal information specialist, though the transaction amount was not disclosed. The Montpellier-based company, which provides management software to law firms, will integrate Lexbase's legal databases — including court decisions, legislative texts, and doctrinal articles — into its existing platform. The acquisition comes as AI blurs the boundaries between management software and legal research tools. Septeo plans to launch "Septeo Legal" in October, combining firm management functions with Lexbase's content and AI-powered drafting assistance in a single interface. The deal follows Septeo's €550 million acquisition of German company stp.one in February. Septeo's revenue has grown from €140 million five years ago to an expected €500 million by the end of 2026, with EBITDA approaching €200 million.
