Snap launches its first smart glasses - and they cost a fortune. 17.06.2026, 11:26 17.06.2026, 11:29 The makers of the photo and video app Snapchat are among the pioneers of glasses that can overlay digital information. The operating company Snap started pre-orders for the device called Specs. The glasses with so-called "augmented reality" (AR) are expected to go on sale in the fall in the USA, Great Britain and France. Snap set the price at $2,195 in the US and €2,295 in France (equivalent to 2,108 Swiss francs). Snap's first AR glasses with a mini display offer a battery life of up to 4 hours. With glasses case, up to 20 hours. Image: snap The somewhat clunky-looking glasses are intended to display route instructions and a mini map in the wearer's field of vision. When looking at a car engine, they could, on request, mark where coolant goes. The data is projected as holograms into part of the field of view. The display can be controlled with finger movements that the glasses' camera recognizes. The battery is said to last up to four hours - and with recharging in the protective case, up to 20 hours. There are models in two sizes, the lighter of which weighs 132 grams. Google also presented prototypes of such glasses, set to launch in the coming months. According to media reports, Apple is also working on AR devices, but is likely to take longer. The Facebook group Meta has been selling a glasses model with a small display in front of one eye since last year. (sda/awp/dpa)
Apple is preparing a huge update for its services. Maps, Wallet, and Find will gain new features. Table of contents: Apple is preparing one of the largest updates to its services in years. With the launch of new operating systems, users will receive a range of features utilizing artificial intelligence that aim to simplify everyday use of the company's devices. Changes will include, among others, Apple Maps, Wallet, Apple Cash, Apple Music, Podcasts, iCloud, and the Find service. Maps and the Find feature will become much smarter. One of the biggest innovations will be the improved Apple Maps. The Flyover feature will receive more detailed views of cities generated using a combination of aerial images and AI technology. As a result, users will see even more accurate representations of buildings and surroundings while planning trips or exploring new places. There will also be Local Listings, which will suggest restaurants, attractions, or places worth visiting based on anonymized trends and the popularity of certain locations. Significant changes will also come to the Find app. Users will be able to control the sharing of their location much more precisely by setting an exact end time for sharing. Apple has also prepared a new, unified Find app for the Apple Watch, which will combine the existing features for finding people, devices, and items. Apple Wallet and Apple Cash will simplify everyday payments. Apple is also significantly enhancing its financial tools. One of the most interesting features will be the smart bill splitting in Apple Cash. Just scan a receipt or take a picture of it, and the system will automatically recognize the items and calculate the amounts each person owes, including taxes and tips. Another new feature will be the ability to create digital versions of loyalty and membership cards directly in Apple Wallet. This will allow users to store even more documents and cards in one place. Apple is also expanding Apple Pay. The new payment interface will display more useful information, such as loyalty points balance, available installments, or account status. Stores will also feature the Tap to Share function, allowing for quicker sharing of data needed for purchases. More changes in Apple Music, Podcasts, and iCloud. Fall updates will also include other Apple services. Video podcasts will be available on Mac computers and devices running tvOS. Apple Music will receive additional features for translating song lyrics, improved mixing of tracks, and support for Hi-Res Lossless audio on Apple TV 4K. Meanwhile, Shared iCloud Albums will allow for full-quality photo sharing, support more file types, and enable participation from non-Apple device users. Apple has not forgotten about sports fans and Fitness+ users either. The Apple Sports app will be expanded to more countries, and Fitness+ will gain a new workout program aimed at women going through menopause. Apple is focusing on an even deeper integration of artificial intelligence with its services. The autumn updates aim to make using Maps, payments, podcasts, or photo storage more convenient and intuitive. Particularly interesting are the new features in Apple Wallet and intelligent solutions using Apple Intelligence for everyday tasks. Redakcja Choose TV ChooseTVteam-title

Apple debuts sleep apnoea notifications for Apple Watch, Hearing Test feature for AirPods Pro users in India. Apple announced the launch of sleep apnoea notifications for Apple Watch and Hearing test feature for AirPods Pro users in India. 22 May 2026 Apple has announced the launch of sleep apnoea notifications for Apple Watch users and the Hearing Test feature for AirPods Pro users in India. "AirPods Pro 3 provide a clinically validated Hearing Test feature for users to test their hearing levels in the comfort of their own home," said Apple. Sleep apnoea notifications for Apple Watch in India. Sleep apnoea is a prevalent disorder in which breathing momentarily stops during sleep, preventing the body from getting enough oxygen. Breathing Disturbances is a new Apple Watch metric that uses the Accelerometer to detect small movements at the wrist associated with interruptions to normal respiratory patterns during sleep. Every 30 days, Apple Watch will analyse breathing disturbance data and notify users if it shows consistent signs of moderate to severe sleep apnoea so they can speak to their doctor about next steps, including potential diagnosis and treatment. For more informed conversations with their healthcare providers, users can export a PDF that shows when sleep apnoea may have occurred, three months of breathing disturbance data, and additional information. Apple notes that Breathing Disturbances can also be used to assess restfulness of sleep. Breathing Disturbances can be influenced by alcohol, medications, sleep position, and more. Users can view their nightly Breathing Disturbances in the Health app, where they are classified as elevated or not elevated, and can be viewed over a one-month, six-month, or one-year period. Hearing Test feature for AirPods Pro. To give users even more insights into hearing health, Apple says it is "introducing an intuitive, clinical-grade hearing test based on the standard clinical approach called pure-tone audiometry that users can take themselves with their AirPods Pro and a compatible iPhone or iPad." Users can take the convenient test in about five minutes from the comfort of their own home. The Hearing Test feature leverages advanced acoustic science and provides users with an interactive experience. When a user completes the test, they will see an easy-to-understand summary of their results, including a number representing hearing loss in each ear, a classification, and recommendations. The results, which include an audiogram, are stored privately and securely in the Health app, and can be shared with a healthcare provider to have more informed conversations. The Hearing Test feature is supported on AirPods Pro 2 and later with the latest firmware paired with a compatible iPhone or iPad with iOS 18 or iPadOS 18 and later, and is intended for people 18 years or older.
