- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- A valid state medication administration license, such as Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Medication Aide, is required, or the candidate must meet state requirements for medication administration in assisted living.
- A current First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation license is required, or the candidate must be able to obtain one.
- At least 12 months of experience administering medications in a professional caregiving setting is required.
- Candidates must be willing to participate in a weekend rotation.
- Assist residents with the daily administration of prescribed medication, including self-administration, according to individual care plans.
- Follow documentation protocols and report changes in resident status.
- Manage medication inventory and proper storage conditions, and coordinate medication reorders and deliveries with pharmacies as necessary.
- Provide care and support with residents' activities of daily living in a team setting as needed.
- Promote resident independence and provide emotional support through continuous engagement and companionship.
- Encourage and assist residents' participation in life-enrichment activity programs.
- Promote open communication among healthcare professionals, families, residents, and staff.
- Experience with memory care is preferred.
