Senior Network Engineer - Voice
About the job
- Senior-level command-line configuration knowledge across a broad range of Cisco products, including ASA, ASR, ISR, Nexus, and MDS hardware.
- Expert-level troubleshooting and configuration implementation of BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, Spanning Tree, VPNs, Voice over Internet Protocol, VRF, and VSS.
- Ability to evaluate MPLS and VPN network performance issues, including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.
- Ability to plan and execute the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment.
- Required CCNA, CCDA, and CCDP industry certifications.
- Maintain the operational state of a 24/7/365 global network.
- Design, set up, troubleshoot, and configure complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching environments.
- Design, set up, troubleshoot, and configure complex routing protocols.
- Interface with vendors and carriers for installation and troubleshooting.
- Work with remote sites to establish and maintain WAN and LAN connectivity at the handoff point.
- Identify potential network problems, report outages, suggest corrective actions, and apply corrective actions.
- Perform periodic preventive maintenance on network components.
- Maintain the security posture of the LAN and WAN using best practices.
- Troubleshoot network anomalies and malfunctions of network hardware.
- Use Microsoft Visio to update network diagrams and build new diagrams.
- Work with and across multiple functional IT areas, including mid-range and Wintel, UNIX, SAN, and application integration.
- CCNP or CCIE certification.
- Additional background supporting Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Wi-Fi, Voice over Internet Protocol, F5, and firewall technologies.
