Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of paid or unpaid service-capacity experience supporting individuals such as children, youth, elderly people, or people with physical, emotional, or mental disabilities is required, or related coursework as determined through review of a college transcript.
  • A current driver's license, good driving record, and ability to transport others are required.
  • Employees must complete a drug screen, tuberculosis test, and extensive background checks, including criminal history, sex offender registry, state central registry, education verification, and professional references.
  • Employees are strongly encouraged to receive a flu shot and be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to joining.
Responsibilities
  • Provide life-skills training to adults with mental illness who live in residential facilities.
  • Help residents build skills and live independently and successfully.
  • Provide residential skills coaching in areas including organizational skills, budgeting, shopping, and general life skills in a supportive living environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of the Recovery Model is preferred.
