Responsibilities
  • Assist scientists with laboratory and investigative procedures under supervision.
  • Perform assays, imaging experiments, and other technical duties supporting laboratory research activities.
  • Perform scientific analyses and tests for research under direct supervision.
  • Perform bench chemistry, microbiology, molecular biology, or other scientific techniques according to protocol.
  • Conduct microscope work and basic image analysis.
  • Safely collect and handle human or animal tissue, blood, and other biological specimens.
  • Handle animals and perform basic animal husbandry when required.
  • Identify corrective-action and process-improvement opportunities and contribute to quality and safety targets.
  • Manage time and prioritize daily tasks while using laboratory resources efficiently.
  • Collaborate with management to order appropriate laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • Participate in department initiatives, projects, and shared governance activities.
  • Train in new techniques and procedures as they emerge.
  • Maintain and update an individual development plan and pursue continual development.
