About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of finance experience, including ownership of financial planning and analysis and board reporting at a high-growth startup.
  • Strong financial planning and analysis and strategic finance capability, including the ability to build a financial model from scratch and defend its assumptions to a board.
  • Fluency in software-as-a-service metrics; fintech or payments economics, including float, money movement, and multi-product average revenue per user, is advantageous.
  • Direct experience partnering with a founder or chief executive officer on decisions and company building.
  • Ability to work hands-on initially and build a team over time.
Responsibilities
  • Own the financial model and forecast, turning the company's revenue trajectory into an operating plan and a model trusted by the board.
  • Run board and investor reporting, including monthly metrics, quarterly board materials, and the financial narrative behind them.
  • Own unit economics and pricing analysis, including average revenue per user, gross margin, payback, and economics of new business lines such as benefits brokerage and in-house payroll rails.
  • Partner on capital allocation, including decisions about Series B proceeds, burn and runway, and returns on major investments such as replacing the money-movement vendor.
  • Build the finance function by hiring and leading the controller and operations side.
  • Own relationships with wealth, banking, and accounting partners, as well as auditors.
  • Serve as the financial backbone for the next fundraising round.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in payroll, payments, insurance, or another regulated money-moving business.
  • Experience helping run a priced fundraising round.

About the company
