About the job

Requirements
  • Five to seven years of experience in internal communications, culture, employee experience, or a related function at a fast-paced technology or deep-technology company.
  • Demonstrated experience building or significantly scaling an internal communications program, with specific systems, channels, or programs architected from scratch or materially elevated.
  • Experience producing or owning All Hands meetings, quarterly business reviews, or similar large-scale company moments.
  • A track record of building culture programs, such as team celebrations, recognition, belonging initiatives, or retention-focused work, with measurable impact.
  • Experience operating effectively in high-ambiguity environments and comfort with incomplete information and founder-led decision-making.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong executive presence and judgment when working with founder/CEO and executive leadership, including the ability to provide candid feedback.
  • Ability to prioritize strategy and execution, establish a long-term vision, execute details, and explain when requests should be declined or delayed.
  • Ability to influence without authority, navigate competing stakeholder demands, surface conflicts early, and find cross-functional solutions.
  • Curiosity about employees and teams and the ability to translate what matters to them into programs and messaging.
  • High attention to detail, strong editorial judgment, and ability to distill complex ideas into clear, compelling language.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity and at speed in an early-stage scaling company with ad hoc requests and founder-led decision-making.
Responsibilities
  • Define and own the internal communications operating model, including channels, cadences, content types, and the editorial calendar governing information flow as the company scales.
  • Own the strategy and execution of key company moments, including All Hands meetings, quarterly business reviews, organizational announcements, executive updates, and crisis communications.
  • Build and maintain an internal intranet or knowledge hub using existing tools such as Rippling, Teams, SharePoint, or dedicated platforms as a single source of truth for company information, policies, and culture.
  • Create repeatable playbooks and templates for recurring programs, including All Hands meetings, organizational changes, and executive announcements, to reduce manual work each cycle.
  • Partner with executive leadership to turn strategy and initiatives into clear, compelling stories for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Help employees understand the business direction, its importance, and how their work connects to the company's space-infrastructure mission.
  • Design and execute belonging and retention programs, including team celebrations, recognition initiatives, cross-functional gatherings, and rituals.
  • Own employer branding on external sites, published information, and careers pages, highlighting company culture and the employee experience as the company grows internationally.
  • Lead change communications for initiatives such as reorganizations, new policies, and leadership transitions, helping employees navigate change with clarity and confidence.
  • Engage with employees across levels and functions, surface team needs, and translate them into effective programs and messaging.
  • Partner with People, Workplace, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure communications are consistent with company values and aligned with business moments.
  • Set priorities and a delivery cadence among competing requests, and clearly communicate decisions to stakeholders.
  • Develop the communications calendar, establish scope and delivery expectations, and determine whether requests should be deferred or approached differently.
  • Make editorial and strategic decisions with incomplete information and iterate without waiting for perfect clarity.
  • Build cross-functional alignment by coordinating with People, executive leadership, Finance, Legal, and others; surface conflicts early and find workable paths forward.
  • Identify high-leverage activities versus low-leverage work and determine what should remain with the role or be delegated as the function grows.
  • Work with the CEO and executive team to develop messaging frameworks for key announcements, fundraises, product milestones, and business pivots.
  • Provide editorial feedback and counsel on executive communications, including emails, Teams or other internal updates, and presentations.
  • Produce executive talking points, All Hands presentations, recorded messages, and email campaigns.
  • Help leadership understand how messaging is received internally and translate between executive intent and employee experience.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Sana/Galileo to draft, edit, repurpose content, generate talking points, and scale communications across channels.
  • Help establish how AI can augment human-centered communications and contribute to the company's internal AI narrative.
  • Stay current with evolving AI tools and experiment with ways to reduce manual work while maintaining an authentic voice.
Desired Qualifications
  • Comfort working with AI tools in communications; experience developing or owning an AI-related narrative is preferred.
  • Video editing, design fluency, or other production skills.
  • Prior experience operating in a founder-led or high-ambiguity scaling environment.
