  • A valid driver’s license is required.
  • A BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity software is required.
  • The candidate must be able to plan work tasks efficiently to meet company goals.
  • The candidate must be able to think critically, solve problems, work independently, and work in team environments.
  • The candidate must be able to work in a high-output environment and communicate effectively.
  • The candidate must understand mechanical principles.
  • The candidate must travel up to 40% at times.
  • The candidate must work a flexible schedule and accommodate emergency call-outs, extended hours, and some out-of-town and overnight work.
  • The candidate must participate in the company drug and alcohol policy, including pre-employment, random, post-accident, and reasonable-suspicion testing.
  • The candidate must complete a thorough background screening and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • The candidate must perform duties on-site and underground at industrial locations.
  • The candidate must wear required OSHA safety equipment, including steel-toed or metatarsal shoes, a hard hat, lanyard, fire-retardant protection, and protective eyewear.
  • The candidate must walk, use hands to handle objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb ladders and stairs, crawl, and kneel.
  • The candidate must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and support control systems involving pneumatics, servos, variable frequency drives, relays, communication networks, touchscreens, pushbuttons, and robotic integration under senior-level supervision.
  • Create software designs for customized manufacturing automation and safety-system solutions under senior-level supervision.
  • Create accurate bills of materials.
  • Define equipment and parts from external suppliers.
  • Architect programs that are simple to test, well documented, and versatile.
  • Commission customized products and systems on-site and at customer facilities.
  • Create customer documentation, including user manuals and programming diagrams.
  • Respond to phone calls and text messages after hours and on weekends within a timely manner.
  • Facilitate and support manufacturing processes and control systems within operations.
  • Represent the company in the field and maintain good relations with current and prospective customers.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in process control and automation is preferred.
  • Proficiency in reading and using AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Allen-Bradley programmable logic controllers and RSLogix 5000/500 is preferred.
  • Human-machine interface or operator interface terminal development experience with Rockwell and/or Wonderware is preferred.
