Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • At least two years of experience in the commercial construction industry overseeing ground-up projects in healthcare, financial, and light-industrial sectors.
  • Ability to manage more than two projects at one time and balance workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to manage multiple teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project reporting software and Microsoft Office, and ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented approach.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
  • Proficiency with technology.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and activities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with project owners, tradespeople, and others.
  • Basic understanding of the construction process, including materials, equipment, and techniques.
  • Ability to travel to job sites; travel may be up to 25%.
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other office equipment; sit, talk, hear, use repetitive hand motions, handle or feel, stand, walk, reach, bend, lift up to 20 pounds, and climb stairs for fire drills and emergencies.
Responsibilities
  • Share responsibility for managing project budgets, writing contracts, approving invoices, and updating project schedules.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and help resolve issues or conflicts that arise during projects.
  • Manage projects independently when assigned, with the Project Manager assisting on major issues or complications.
  • Organize, process, and distribute project documents.
  • Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
  • Expedite documents and material and equipment deliveries to meet project schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining cost-control data.
  • Maintain long-term working relationships with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and employees.
  • Perform duties in support of the Project Manager.
  • Assist the project team with mobilization, including obtaining permits and setting up trailers.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing a schedule of values and estimate listing and maintaining them.
  • Regularly assist in updating the overall construction schedule.
  • Assist in developing short-interval schedules for weekly coordination meetings.
  • Assist in implementing and tracking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design requirements.
  • Administer document control for shop drawings, submittals, subcontracts and purchase orders, insurance certificates and bonds, requests for information, plans and specifications, warranties and as-builts and manuals, notices to owner and lien releases, construction bulletins, owner change-order requests, and back charges.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with contract documents.
  • Assist the project team in preparing cost reports.
  • Assist with subcontractor payment applications and vendor invoice processing.
  • Attend project-related meetings and assist with preparing and distributing meeting minutes and attendee rosters.
  • Assist with punch-list completion.
  • Assist the project team with project close-out procedures and activities.
  • Assist with warranty work as directed by the Project Manager.
Desired Qualifications
  • Blueprint-reading skills and ability to use scheduling software.
