Requirements
  • A current Arizona registered nurse license is required.
  • Two years of training and development experience are required.
  • Two years of long-term care experience are required.
  • The ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English is required.
  • Basic mathematical skills are required.
  • The ability to understand, follow, and support established facility policies and procedures is required.
  • The ability to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately is required.
  • The ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments efficiently is required.
  • The ability to work effectively with minimum supervision is required.
  • The ability to adapt teaching to the situation and diversity of learners is required.
  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification is required.
  • Computer literacy, strong interpersonal and communication skills, leadership and teaching skills, and understanding and empathy for the needs of elderly people are required.
Responsibilities
  • Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service programs, and orientation.
  • Train and educate the nursing staff.
  • Apply practices and procedures and the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in a post-acute care facility.
  • Implement and interpret the department's programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
  • Plan the annual and monthly training program calendar in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.
  • Work with the Director of Nursing and Infection Preventionist to identify educational opportunities and develop in-service programs based on the community's educational needs.
  • Maintain training records and program materials as required by federal and state regulations.
  • Conduct department-specific orientation for Health Center nursing staff, including completion of the clinical skills checklist.
  • Monitor employee training outcomes, including skills taught and session evaluations.
  • Serve on the QAPI and Risk Committees and submit reports and other assigned committee work.
  • Coordinate the activities of students engaged in learning programs within the facility from various learning institutions.
  • Investigate incidents, generate reports, and report them to the Director of Nursing.
  • Participate in the Nursing Administration on-call rotation.
Desired Qualifications
  • Wound certification is preferred.
  • Infection prevention and control certification is preferred.
