Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a technical field, or significant and recent direct experience in a financial planning and analysis role.
  • A minimum of 8–10 years of financial management experience for a large corporation.
  • A demonstrated history of success in project analysis, tracking, and implementation.
  • Ability to work closely with and provide direction to highly technical managers.
Responsibilities
  • Provide financial leadership and development for the Newbuilding Finance Team.
  • Manage and maintain ultimate ownership of the multiple-billion-dollar annual Newbuilding budget.
  • Lead budget monitoring and reporting, including reviews with Newbuild, Brand, and financial leadership across the Company.
  • Review Newbuilding construction financial figures and direct key customers in reviewing their financial activities, including preparation of corporate certifications and approval with the Executive Vice President of Newbuilding.
  • Prepare and communicate Newbuilding Department Project Plans and monthly and quarterly forecasts with department heads and key customers across multiple projects, including management of all drydock yards.
  • Partner with executive leadership to prepare the annual departmental operating business plan, focusing on efficiencies and value-added work.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Sarbanes-Oxley key controls, and the UK Anti-Bribery Act to ensure compliance with government regulations and Group policies.
  • Maintain and enhance project cost controls, including leading monthly closing, reconciling projects to the general ledger, and ensuring compliance with company policies regarding investments and expenses.
  • Support Project Managers in developing and managing project costs and measure project effectiveness across the full scope of work.
  • Facilitate capital asset requests and amendments through financial plans, return-on-investment analysis, and appropriate investment-versus-expense recognition.
  • Provide ad hoc financial analysis in a dynamic environment.
  • Prepare business presentations for special projects.
  • Support vendor evaluations and manage payment approvals and invoice processing.
  • Serve as the departmental liaison to Accounting, Brand Finance, and Corporate/Capital Planning.
  • Adhere to the department budget and controls.
  • Identify efficiencies and focus on value-added work.
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties.

Royal Caribbean completes $1.25B bond offering to refinance debt

Royal Caribbean Group has completed a registered public offering of $1.25 billion in senior unsecured notes due 2034. The notes, which carry a 5.550% interest rate, will mature on 20 January 2034 unless redeemed earlier. The cruise operator plans to use the net proceeds primarily to repay part of its outstanding floating rate term loan facilities. Any remaining funds will go towards repaying or refinancing other existing debt. BNP Paribas Securities Corp., BofA Securities, Inc., and Citigroup Global Markets Inc. served as lead book-running managers for the offering. The notes were sold pursuant to an automatic shelf registration statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on 29 February 2024. Royal Caribbean Group operates 71 ships across three wholly owned brands.
