Requirements
  • An Associate of Arts degree is required, along with completion of an accredited radiologic technologist program or equivalent on-the-job experience sufficient to pass the ARRT examination.
  • At least one year of experience as a practicing MRI Technologist is required.
  • Current ARRT (R) and ARRT (MR) certifications must be maintained.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • A current Washington State Certified Radiologic Technologist license must be maintained.
  • The employee must be able to pass the required background check, post-offer pre-employment drug test, and applicable excluded-individual screening.
  • The employee must be able to access multiple worksites in a timely manner and work at any location or shift as needed, including taking call.
  • The employee must maintain confidentiality, comply with Joint Commission and HIPAA regulations, protect protected health information, and follow applicable health and safety policies.
  • The employee must demonstrate knowledge of MRI systems and locations covered by the role and use relevant computer applications and systems.
Responsibilities
  • Perform MRI studies meeting or exceeding standards established by interpreting radiologists.
  • Follow MRI safety guidelines and ensure staff and patients follow them.
  • Follow established protocols for individual MRI examinations.
  • Prepare equipment and examination rooms, including selecting coils, setting up sterile trays, stocking supplies, and preparing rooms for invasive procedures.
  • Interview and assess patients, obtain procedure consent, and review patient preparation checklists.
  • Perform parenteral procedures, including contrast injections and intravenous starts and removals.
  • Assist patients on and off the MRI table and position MRI coils as needed.
  • Communicate with patients during examinations to minimize movement and maintain comfort.
  • Complete examination paperwork, build patient exam work lists, change exam codes in Medicalis, code exams for billing, add medication and contrast charges, and add presentation states in Intellispace.
  • Communicate equipment, protocol, and patient issues to the Team Leader and Director.
  • Transport patients as needed.
  • Rotate among shifts, locations, independent outpatient sites, and contracted inpatient sites, including coverage for vacations and illness and required call coverage.
  • Work in hospital, urgent care, and clinical settings as assigned.
  • Provide MRI coverage at Holy Family Imaging Center, including emergency room, inpatient, outpatient, stroke, limited pediatric, trauma, and limited emergent procedure cases.
  • Set up sterile trays for procedures.
  • Perform other assigned duties while maintaining professional conduct, customer service, and compliance with company standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
  • Medical office experience.
  • Understanding of MRI procedures intended for radiologist interpretation.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Workday, Medicalis, Intellispace, EPIC, Qgenda, Webex, and Internet/Intranet systems.
