Requirements
  • At least 10 years of engineering, procurement, and construction project experience, including supply chain management responsibilities on projects up to $1 billion or more.
  • Experience managing teams of more than 40 individuals.
  • Strong market acumen across all spend categories.
  • Proficiency in commercial and contract negotiations.
  • Experience with claim management.
  • Understanding of all components of supply chain risk.
  • Fluency with project management tools and work processes.
  • Ability to interface with customers, vendors, suppliers, subcontractors, executive management, engineering, purchasing, project controls, and procurement strategy teams.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver project-related sourcing, purchasing, expediting, and material management in accordance with the established plan, budget, and schedule.
  • Ensure the Supply Chain team adheres to standard operating procedures, project procedures, and the prime contract.
  • Represent, lead, and coordinate the delivery of Supply Chain services within the Business Unit and Project Management Team.
  • Oversee staffing and the overall execution strategy for procurement awards to meet contract budget and schedule requirements while maintaining corporate processes and procedures.
  • Define the scope of purchases and project objectives, and identify critical sourcing events.
  • Review and approve bid evaluations, finalize supplier selections, conduct negotiations, and prepare conformed contracts.
  • Determine the need for formal contract kickoff meetings with critical suppliers and develop agendas to support the Project Management Team.
  • Ensure quality goals are met while completing work in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for all supply chain activities on mega-project execution.
  • Report project work, risks, and mitigation activities to customers and executive management.
  • Develop the purchasing strategy, critical materials list, and preliminary execution plan for critical procurements with the Supply Chain Deal Team and Procurement Strategy team.
  • Develop cash flow for items included in the critical materials list with the lead estimator.
  • Develop the preliminary procurement schedule with Project Controls and maintain the schedule from baseline through execution.
  • Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, and advice to less senior buyers on procurement teams.
  • Develop and validate independent cost analyses or benchmarking to assess the reliability of individual proposals.
  • Work with Engineering to maintain appropriate workflows for technical documents and technical reviews.
  • Interface with vendors and coordinate with Purchasing to resolve technical clarifications and establish the basis of bid.

Zachry Group awarded Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource's Combined Cycle Generation Project. SAN ANTONIO-(BUSINESS WIRE)-Zachry Group (Zachry) has been awarded the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract for NiSource Inc.'s Combined Cycle Generation Project, a major infrastructure project located near Wheatfield, Indiana. The facility will support NiSource's delivery of electricity to a third-party customer and includes two nominal 1,300-megawatt gas-fired combined cycle units in a 2 x 2 x 1 configuration. A subsidiary of NiSource Inc. will own and operate the facility. The EPC contract will be executed by a joint venture between Zachry Group and Quanta Services, Inc. (Quanta). Zachry will lead engineering, procurement, project management, construction planning, and commissioning, drawing on its five decades of experience designing and building over 100 gas-fired facilities totaling more than 60,000 megawatts. Quanta will contribute field-level leadership and craft workforce management through its operating companies. This collaborative approach is designed to enhance execution certainty, optimize labor resources, and deliver cost-effective, high-quality infrastructure.
