Evvy raises $40M from Catalio Capital to take its vaginal microbiome data into fertility.

Evvy raises $40M from Catalio Capital to take its vaginal microbiome data into fertility. September 15, 2026 * Evvy has raised a $40 million Series B led by Catalio Capital Management to push its vaginal microbiome platform into fertility diagnostics. * The New York company has built a dataset from more than 100,000 patients to train EvvyAI, its machine-learning engine for biomarker discovery. * The round brings Evvy's total funding to nearly $60 million, following a $14 million Series A in September 2023 led by Left Lane Capital. For years, the patients who came to Priyanka Jain with recurring infections or unexplained infertility had heard some version of the same sentence from a doctor: no clear cause found. Jain built Evvy to replace that shrug with data, starting with the vaginal microbiome. Now the startup is chasing a bigger target. Evvy has raised a $40 million Series B led by Catalio Capital Management to expand into fertility. The round is oversubscribed and includes new investors US Fertility, through its Innovation Fund, Rethink Impact, Muse Capital and Alumni Ventures, alongside returning backers General Catalyst, Left Lane Capital, Labcorp Venture Fund, BBG Ventures, Amboy Street Ventures, Ingeborg and Foreground Capital. It brings Evvy's total funding to nearly $60 million across three rounds since 2021. From vaginal health to fertility. Priyanka Jain co-founded Evvy in New York in 2021 alongside Laine Bruzek and Pita Navarro, all three women, after Jain spent four years as head of product at pymetrics, an AI hiring startup. Evvy's first product was an at-home vaginal microbiome test using metagenomic sequencing, built to catch what standard swab tests miss. It works by sequencing more than 700 bacteria and fungi from a single sample, then routing results through licensed clinicians who can prescribe treatment. That data set, now drawn from more than 100,000 patients and 3,000 practitioners, feeds EvvyAI, the company's machine-learning platform. Evvy says the work has produced 13 peer-reviewed publications, identified new bacterial vaginosis subtypes and led to a diagnosis for more than 90% of symptomatic patients, with targeted treatment cutting BV recurrence by roughly half. Competition heats up around women's health data. Evvy is entering a broader women's health market that is attracting increasingly large rounds. Juno Bio, another vaginal microbiome diagnostics company, raised $3.8 million in July 2026 to expand its sequencing platform and open a CLIA-certified women's health lab. Maven Clinic raised $125 million in 2024 at a $1.7 billion valuation, while Midi Health raised $100 million in February 2026 at a valuation above $1 billion. Evvy's pitch is that it owns the underlying diagnostic layer those broader platforms don't. Catalio, the lead investor, has a pattern of backing diagnostics plays: its portfolio includes PinkDx, a $40 million Series A for gynecological cancer diagnostics, alongside larger biotech bets like Odyssey Therapeutics and Imperative Care. "We were drawn to Evvy not only because of its growth, but because of the unique data and AI infrastructure the company is building, and the exceptional team executing on it," said Jacob Vogelstein, co-founder and managing partner at Catalio Capital. Jain frames the opportunity around a word she says patients hear too often: "Women hear 'unexplained' constantly - unexplained infertility, unexplained recurrence, unexplained pain. It's stated like a diagnosis, when it really just means medicine wasn't built to measure female biology." What's next? The women's health funding gap is well documented: the McKinsey Health Institute estimates that closing it could add $1 trillion to annual global GDP by 2040, largely because so little clinical data exists on conditions that affect women specifically. Whether a data company can out-execute better-funded virtual-care platforms at their own game, once it moves past its niche, is the open question this round doesn't answer.

Evvy raises $40M to make vaginal microbiome testing routine in women's healthcare

Evvy has raised $40 million in an oversubscribed Series B round led by Catalio Capital to expand its vaginal microbiome platform into reproductive healthcare, focusing on fertility and IVF. The round included U.S. Fertility's Innovation Fund, Labcorp Venture Fund, and existing investors including General Catalyst and Left Lane Capital, bringing total funding to nearly $60 million. The company has served over 100,000 patients and partnered with 3,000 healthcare practitioners, building what it describes as the world's largest proprietary dataset on the vaginal microbiome. Ninety-six percent of patients contribute data anonymously to clinical research. Evvy's at-home Vaginal Health Test analyses over 700 bacteria and fungi using metagenomic sequencing, priced at $159 per test. The funding will scale EvvyAI, the company's data and AI platform underlying its diagnostic services. CEO Priyanka Jain aims to make vaginal microbiome screening routine preventive care, comparable to Pap smears, addressing areas where women's health research has historically been limited.
