HVAC Specialist
About the job
- You must have an engineering degree with a building and/or energy specialization.
- You must have at least 6 years of experience designing HVAC or climate-engineering systems for housing, commercial, and/or public-works projects.
- You must have experience using computer-aided drafting tools such as AutoCAD.
- You must have experience using regulatory calculation tools such as Perrenoud or Pléiades Comfie.
- You must demonstrate rigor, synthesis ability, clear and precise communication, and strong interpersonal skills.
- You will act as the HVAC and climate-engineering expert supporting project teams from preliminary phases through handover of the works.
- You will contribute to the technical, energy, and economic quality of projects, primarily for commercial and/or industrial operations.
- You will support project managers in preparing HVAC technical and financial responses to public and private tenders.
- You will review and control technical documents produced internally or by partners, consult suppliers and contractors, and produce HVAC documents and associated estimates when needed.
- You will analyze and control written and graphic HVAC documents prepared by design-management teams.
- You will ensure regulatory compliance, system consistency across heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and renewable-energy systems, and optimization of proposed energy and economic solutions.
- During the design phase, you will draft technical specifications for your area of expertise, produce or validate plans, and prepare quantity schedules for HVAC work packages.
- You will transmit tender-consultation packages to the purchasing team and participate in the technical analysis of bids.
- You will support site leads with HVAC execution and technical-coordination activities.
- You will contribute to developing the Quality Assurance Plan and implement commissioning processes for installations.
- You will periodically inspect the proper execution of HVAC works, assist with subcontractor coordination, and participate in pre-handover operations and warranty and after-sales-service phases.
- You will serve as the company’s technical reference for HVAC works, maintain technical and regulatory monitoring, and participate in training and developing team capabilities.
- You will analyze the company’s needs for works within the purchasing and cost-estimating team.
- You will source and select suppliers and subcontractors to perform project-site services.
