About the job

Requirements
  • At least 6 years of experience producing events or experiential programs, including demonstrated ownership of an events portfolio or function.
  • A proven track record of building and driving an events roadmap with minimal oversight.
  • Comfort working as the sole events person and handling hands-on execution, with Marketing and Design support.
  • An established network of trusted vendors and production partners, and the ability to identify and evaluate new partners as needed.
  • Strong project-management skills and command of budgets, contracts, logistics, timelines, and multiple simultaneous workstreams.
  • Ability to understand technical products and turn them into substantive, engaging experiences for engineers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment with limited process and high ambiguity.
  • Flexibility to support broader thought leadership and ecosystem engagement initiatives beyond core event logistics.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and confidence working directly with executives, customers, engineers, vendors, and external partners.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours when events require it.
  • Applicants must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee, or be eligible to obtain the required U.S. Department of State authorizations.
Responsibilities
  • Build Revel’s events strategy and roadmap across trade shows, industry conferences, customer experiences, recruiting events, intimate gatherings, original brand activations, and internal company events.
  • Create memorable experiences for engineers and hardtech leaders, including compelling booth environments, technical demonstrations, dinners, and large-scale brand moments.
  • Own events end to end, including concept development, programming, budgets, timelines, venues, contracts, vendors, production, logistics, promotion, and onsite execution.
  • Translate Revel’s brand and technical product into distinctive, substantive, and credible physical experiences for deeply technical audiences.
  • Build and manage a trusted network of fabricators, producers, audiovisual teams, venues, caterers, and other partners capable of executing ambitious ideas.
  • Own detailed production planning, including booth design, staffing, signage, promotional items, transportation, technical requirements, and run of show.
  • Develop audience and attendance strategies for each event, including invitations, RSVP management, attendee communications, and post-event follow-up.
  • Partner with Marketing, Design, Sales, Recruiting, Product, and company leadership to ensure every event supports clear business goals.
  • Define success metrics and evaluate event performance using data and feedback to determine where Revel should continue investing.
  • Establish processes and playbooks to scale Revel’s events program.
  • Represent Revel at events and travel as needed to support programs across the country.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building an events function from scratch at an early-stage or rapidly growing company.
  • Experience creating events for technical or engineering-driven audiences, particularly in aerospace, defense, energy, robotics, or advanced manufacturing.
  • Existing relationships with venues, industry organizations, or partners across Revel’s core markets.

About the company

Revel builds software for engineering teams to test and operate complex hardware, from early prototypes to production systems. Its RevelTest product handles benchtop experiments and repeatable testing, while RevelC2 supports facility-wide command and control in aerospace, energy, and defense. Teams use browser dashboards to monitor live sensor data, adjust equipment, and review historical logs, with RevelCode as a language designed for hardware control. The company sells the platform to hardware organizations, combining programmable alerts, reporting, and data exports in an environment used throughout a system's development and operation. Revel was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in Los Angeles, California.

What believers are saying

  • Employees share ownership: Revel grants equity to all full-time staff.
  • Funding expands resources: Revel announced a $150 million Series B led by Index Ventures in February 2026.
  • Revel fits custom equipment: Astro Mechanica connected devices through its existing in-house driver protocol.

What critics are saying

  • Deployment engineers face broad demands: Revel combines component wiring, lab advice and customer test execution in one role.
  • Sales consume engineering work before payment: Revel runs free pilots for one or two months before discussing commercial terms.
  • Product focus is stretched: Revel's founder calls pursuing testing and industrial control simultaneously a threat.

What makes Revel unique

  • Revel gives operators ownership: Astro Mechanica staff author automation and reduce reliance on a single internal software expert.
  • Revel draws on hardware operators: its engineering team includes veterans of SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir.
  • Revel checks faults during operation: its control language tests expected system states at runtime.

Revel raises $150M Series B to modernise hardware control for aerospace and industrial systems

Revel, a startup building software platforms for hardware testing and control, has raised $150 million in a Series B round led by Index Ventures. Redpoint Ventures participated, alongside returning investors Thrive Capital, Felicis and Abstract Ventures. Founded just over a year ago, Revel initially focused on aerospace applications, reducing engine test-stand setup times from 14 days to 8 hours. The platform delivers real-time telemetry, hardware-agnostic control and rapid reconfiguration capabilities. The company is now expanding beyond test infrastructure into industrial control applications across energy, manufacturing, defence and biomedical systems. Revel's leadership team includes engineers from SpaceX, Anduril and Palantir. The funding will be used to scale the team and expand product capabilities for high-consequence hardware systems.
