About the job

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a generalist background, including the ability to calibrate quickly and recruit for unfamiliar roles and industries.
  • Comfort working in high-growth, multi-entity environments and creating a recruiting playbook where one does not exist.
  • Ability to learn unfamiliar functions or industries quickly enough to calibrate talent without extensive hiring-manager guidance.
  • Authentic, polished, and persuasive verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to prioritize independently across a shifting slate of roles and deliver without supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with Ashby or Greenhouse.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
Responsibilities
  • Support full-cycle hiring for non-engineering and non-product roles at Beacon headquarters, including finance, marketing, sales, operations, mergers and acquisitions, and business development, from initial outreach through signed offer.
  • Run end-to-end searches for one-off senior hires at portfolio companies, such as product marketing managers, heads of sales, and operations leads, partnering with general managers who may not have worked with a dedicated recruiter.
  • Manage multiple open roles across different functions, companies, and markets, each with its own compensation band, hiring bar, and stakeholders.
  • Build hiring plans with general managers and functional leaders, serving as both a thought partner and recruiting partner.
  • Source creatively using functional networks, referrals, niche communities, and AI-assisted tools, selecting channels appropriate to each role.
  • Maintain clean recruiting pipelines, tight feedback loops, and disciplined processes using Ashby and recruiting data.
  • Navigate compensation conversations and competing offers, and drive negotiations to a successful close.
  • Help build Beacon's employer brand in markets and functions where the company has not actively recruited before.
Desired Qualifications
  • Recruiting experience in private-equity-backed, multi-entity, or holding-company businesses, with understanding of hiring across autonomous units.
  • Experience recruiting general-manager-level or executive roles in addition to individual-contributor roles.
  • Experience building a function outside one's prior area of expertise, such as finance, sales, or operations, and assessing strong talent in that function.
  • Comfort managing many stakeholders simultaneously without relying on a single hiring manager to anchor the process.

About the company

Beacon Software is a long-term home for vertical software companies in the real economy. It buys, builds, and grows software businesses, preserving their legacy while expanding founders’ ambitions. Unlike private equity that aims to flip, Beacon holds forever, investing in product, customers, and teams and sharing resources for scale. Founders gain in-house engineering, AI, design, and fintech expertise, plus access to a network spanning Silicon Valley, Wall Street, and Main Street. Beacon simplifies back-office operations, accelerates growth with proven playbooks, and lets founders focus on building software for their markets. Each portfolio company stays independent with its own brand and customers but benefits from shared resources and immediate value creation. The goal is to help founder-by-founder, company-by-company, win larger contracts, modernize technology, and expand market share by providing a sustainable, collaborative home for software growth.
