Requirements
  • A master's degree in special education is preferred, or completion of a Colorado-approved principal and administrator program.
  • A Colorado Department of Education principal license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • A Colorado Department of Education teaching license with a special education endorsement.
  • A current Colorado driver's license, or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Successful completion of a pre-hire physical.
  • Ability to implement behavioral interventions as needed.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test, FBI fingerprint check, Colorado Bureau of Investigation criminal records check, child abuse registry check, motor vehicle record check, academic record verification, and reference checks.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and completion of the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The employer does not sponsor work visas.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Principal in organizing and fostering a positive, safe environment that meets the needs of students, staff, and parents.
  • Provide instructional leadership support to education and day-treatment programming, including supporting curriculum implementation and managing daily school operations.
  • Support student achievement and implementation of the school's instructional programs and goals.
  • Assist in selecting, training, and implementing state standards and initiatives.
  • Assist in selecting instructional materials and provide curriculum consultation and instructional support to teaching staff.
  • Work with teachers to design and implement instructional modifications and educational strategies to meet student needs, and model teaching techniques in classrooms.
  • Facilitate and supervise implementation of Positive Behavior Supports Intervention (PBIS).
  • Assist with hiring, orientation, and supervision of instructional staff.
  • Coordinate instructional coverage with the Milieu Manager or designee and provide planned classroom coverage as needed.
  • Develop and implement the school's daily schedule to meet Colorado Department of Education requirements for annual hours, weekly core content hours, and school days.
  • Orient new staff to the teaching environment of a day-treatment school, including student-related matters, personnel policies and procedures, and agency practices.
  • Assist in organizing parent meetings, back-to-school nights, and other opportunities for staff to discuss students' learning and behavior with parents.
  • Assist with admissions, enrollment, records requests, and other assigned operational tasks.
  • Prepare professional written reports in a timely manner.
  • Manage Infinite Campus, including creating courses and sections, enrolling students and staff, maintaining grade books, and ensuring quarterly report cards and transcripts are complete and accurate.
