Alpine SG buys niche vertical SaaS firms serving specialized markets and folds them into a common platform. Each acquired company operates independently but gains access to ASG's shared services, capital, and operational expertise from Alpine Investors. The portfolio spans legal tech, govtech, marketing tech, real estate, logistics, and hospitality, with recurring revenue and strong customer loyalty. The goal is to give founders liquidity and build a scalable, diversified platform that accelerates growth across portfolio companies.

Simplify's Take

What believers are saying

  • ASG sold nine businesses in 2025, proving active portfolio monetization and buyer demand.
  • 2025 record deal activity and five new platforms signal strong Alpine capital support.
  • Transcendent's August 2026 acquisition shows ASG still wins strategic deals in mission-critical software.

What critics are saying

  • Integration across 60-plus companies strains management as ASG IV keeps buying faster in 2025-2026.
  • PlayHQ's January 2026 acquisition adds regulatory, cross-border, and product-merger execution risk.
  • Vertical SaaS consolidation creates an existential risk if add-on growth slows and founder-sourced deal flow dries up.

What makes Alpine SG unique

  • ASG IV launched in 2025, targeting $5–50M ARR vertical SaaS across three continents.
  • ASG has acquired over 60 businesses since 2016, including 14 deals in 18 months.
  • Its PeopleFirst model pairs founder-friendly exits with shared operational resources and add-on acquisition expertise.
