  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a four-year college or university.
  • Five to ten years of experience in a related field.
  • Field experience inspecting construction sites and monitoring conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Proficiency with spreadsheet and word processing programs, CPM scheduling programs such as Primavera Project Planner, project management software, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Understanding of and experience using cost and productivity data.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing, with the job team and owners.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply plane and solid geometry, trigonometry, fractions, and percentages to practical situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with abstract and concrete variables.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze and understand plans and specifications.
  • Follow administrative procedures in the Project Administration Manual.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Produce accurate project schedules using CPM scheduling software as needed.
  • Supervise and coordinate the submittal process and working drawing requirements.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, environmental impact studies, and project designs.
  • Provide contract interpretation and clarification.
  • Maintain and update project schedules, including monthly schedule updates and weekly two-week look-ahead schedule reviews with the Project Superintendent and Assistant Project Superintendent.
  • Understand cost and productivity data.
  • Maintain, verify, and report cost and income quantities for completed work.
  • Review, approve, and submit progress billings.
  • Analyze, prepare, maintain, and monitor job costs and production budgets.
  • Work with the Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly cost, income, and cash-flow projections.
  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate, price, and assist the Project Manager with settlement of change orders and claims.
  • Respond quickly to issues and proactively solve problems while handling multiple tasks.
  • Organize and efficiently maintain office, filing, and project correspondence systems.
  • Maintain subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
  • Maintain project compliance with underground utility notifications and locations, including Miss Utility and other services.
  • Promote and participate in two-week and long-range planning with the project team, including the team in planning activities.
  • Work with subcontractors and suppliers and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Consistently apply and enforce the company's safety policy.
