Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
  • At least 8 years of experience in DevOps, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering is required, including at least 2 years leading teams or owning the DevOps function for multiple products or clients.
  • Extensive hands-on expertise with at least two major cloud providers among Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, plus working knowledge of the third, is required.
  • Deep experience with infrastructure as code, with Terraform strongly preferred, and configuration management tools such as Ansible is required.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation with Python, Bash, or Go is required.
  • A solid grounding in cloud security, identity and access management, networking, and compliance-driven environments is required.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineering teams is required.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and the ability to work collaboratively with clients is required.
  • Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure Administrator or DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator are advantageous.
Responsibilities
  • Own the DevOps technical roadmap and vision in collaboration with architects and stakeholders, aligning it with business goals.
  • Define reference architectures, reusable infrastructure-as-code modules, pipeline templates, and standards for adoption across projects.
  • Be accountable for platform reliability, security posture, and delivery velocity outcomes across led engagements, measured through service-level objectives.
  • Represent the DevOps practice with clients by participating in discovery and pre-sales conversations, estimating and scoping infrastructure workstreams, and advising client leadership on cloud and platform decisions.
  • Interview and assess DevOps candidates and help shape team structure and capability development.
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure across Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
  • Architect and operate container platforms, including Kubernetes and managed container services, for scalable and resilient workloads.
  • Define landing zones, account and subscription structures, and network topologies that balance security, cost, and developer velocity.
  • Evaluate and recommend platform tooling and managed services to support business requirements.
  • Own the continuous integration and continuous delivery strategy and pipeline architecture using tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
  • Drive automation across build, test, deployment, and environment provisioning while remaining hands-on with important technical work.
  • Establish GitOps workflows using tools such as Argo CD or Flux for declarative and auditable deployments.
  • Define the observability strategy for monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry, and drive adoption across teams.
  • Own service-level indicators, service-level objectives, and error budgets in partnership with engineering and product teams.
  • Own incident response, on-call practices, and blameless post-incident reviews.
  • Plan for capacity, scalability, and disaster recovery, including backup strategies and multi-region considerations.
  • Own the DevSecOps posture by embedding security standards into delivery pipelines, including secrets management, vulnerability scanning, image signing, and policy as code.
  • Support compliance initiatives such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA through automated controls and evidence collection.
  • Own cloud cost outcomes by driving right-sizing, autoscaling, and FinOps practices, and reporting spend posture to stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach DevOps and software engineers to enhance their technical skills and expertise.
  • Review infrastructure code and pipeline changes, providing feedback to improve quality and maintainability.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on infrastructure, platform, and operational decisions.
  • Lead by example through hands-on involvement in automation, tooling, and design discussions.
  • Identify and resolve technical challenges to ensure project success.
  • Drive continuous-improvement initiatives for delivery processes and methodologies.
  • Track DORA metrics, including deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, and time to restore, and use them to guide improvements.
  • Facilitate lessons-learned meetings and apply findings to future projects.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and standards in DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud operations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Terraform expertise is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort advising senior client stakeholders is a strong plus.
  • Relevant certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect, AWS DevOps Engineer Professional, Azure Administrator, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Google Professional Cloud DevOps Engineer, or Certified Kubernetes Administrator, are a plus.
