About This Role
The Athletic is looking for a driven, enthusiastic individual to join our award-winning podcast network. This entry-level role will assist in the production of some of The Athletic’s sports podcasts and work closely with management, newsroom and the audio team to help deliver our audio product.
This hybrid role is based in London.
Responsibilities
- Be prepared to work across all aspects of the pre- and post-production process of shows, network trails and commercials to assist other producers.
- Assist in the process from idea stage to briefing presenters and recording, editing and publishing.
- Booking and preparing on-air talent, both internally and externally.
- Working closely with senior producers to ensure highest levels of creativity, editorial and legal standards.
- Work closely with social media teams on content distribution.
- Perform administrative and data analysis tasks as needed.
- Some travel may be necessary.
- Administration tasks such as looking after guests, booking meetings, running errands.
Requirements
- Relevant experience of working in radio, podcasting or audio feature making. Amateur podcasting or work experience/internship placements are acceptable.
- Ability to work to regular tight deadlines.
- Experience in editing packages or documentary audio.
- Experience with audio editing software (ideally, Audition) and ability to edit smoothly and accurately at pace.
- Ability to script and edit individual audio features and full episodes.
- This position is based in London. Combination of office-based and remote working, with 2-3 days per week in the London office required.
