The Capital Planning and Management unit is a division within Treasury and is part of Citigroup’s broader Finance organization. The Capital Policy and Management team under Capital Planning and Management recommends Capital Policy design to Capital Committee, including setting and calibrating capital targets, goals and buffers aligned with risk appetite. The team monitors capital levels, recommends capital distribution strategy and manages capital resources working with the businesses and other stakeholders. The team also manages the decision-making, governance and escalation protocols for capital, coordinating Capital Committee and one of its sub-committees, the Capital Planning and Management Committee.
About the role
The VP will be responsible for assisting the Capital Policy and Management team with implementation of the Capital Policy and management of capital. The VP will have exposure to a variety of topics that are of Management’s top focus to have the opportunity to learn and grow professionally. The position involves analyzing financial data, preparing presentation materials, and assisting with control assessment and documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, curiosity to learn, and analytical mindset.
Responsibilities:
- Perform research and analysis related to topics such as capital, balance sheet, and RWA from historical financial data and projections, including peers, to support decision-making
- Interpret data, identify trends and inconsistencies through research and recommend solutions based on analysis
- Collaborate within the team and with cross-functional teams to prepare materials for senior management, governance committees and/or Board;
- Assist with the production of presentation materials and/or updates of policy documents to clearly communicate capital policy and capital resources capacities proposals, among others;
- Help with managing governance requirements for the Citigroup Capital Committee (EMT-level committee) and associated governance forums’ and ensure compliance with firmwide Standards;
- Coordinate the quarterly control assessment process and associated reviews and approvals with Capital Management owners;
- Coordinate and liaise with businesses and functions to educate and garner support for project initiatives; and
- Contribute and support other cross-functional group projects and initiatives.
- Autonomously identifies and resolves problems.
- Implements workflow or process change and redesign and uses a thorough comprehensive knowledge of the specific function.
Qualifications:
- 4-6+ years of financial services experience in a financial institution or consultancy
- Bachelor’s degree, in finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline
- Knowledge of a range of financial products, bank balance sheet including RWA highly preferred
- Strong analytic, writing and presentation skills, including ability to summarize complex business problems and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity
- Solid attention to detail, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word / PowerPoint / Excel)
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing business needs
- Ability to work on multiple projects under a compressed timeline
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability for work
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to work autonomously
- Respect diversity of thought

$142,320.00 - $213,480.00
