About the job

Requirements
  • 3–7 years of communications experience, ideally in a consultancy environment, with exposure to technology clients; Consultants typically have 3–5 years and Senior Consultants typically have 5–7 years.
  • A genuine drive to investigate unfamiliar subjects, identify overlooked angles, and produce work grounded in subject-matter understanding.
  • Strong written and editorial skills, including the ability to turn a complex brief into clear, compelling, and accurate work without losing substance.
  • Ability to quickly learn technically unfamiliar subject matter and apply that knowledge effectively.
  • Experience building advisory relationships with senior stakeholders such as founders, CEOs, or other leaders, and the ability to hold one's own in those conversations.
  • Experience developing media strategies and working with journalists across tier-one technology press and specialist outlets.
  • Professional experience using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Gemini effectively, safely, and critically.
  • Project management experience planning and delivering work against agreed goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Experience managing junior colleagues and delegating effectively.
  • Intellectual curiosity to develop subject-matter expertise in new areas and share that knowledge with colleagues.
  • Collaborative instincts and commitment to contributing to an inclusive culture.
Responsibilities
  • Advise clients on communications strategy by using knowledge of channels and audiences to position clients and tell their stories, including translating technical, scientific, or regulatory subjects into narratives for specialist and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with client team leads to set strategy and priorities, build integrated communications plans, and design research briefs grounded in insight.
  • For Senior Consultant-level work, interrogate briefs, challenge assumptions, and bring an independent perspective.
  • Build client trust and deliver recommendations that are understood and acted on.
  • Produce written content and drive communications moments, including major announcements, media briefings, speeches, owned-channel campaigns, and events.
  • Track client issues, including regulatory developments and research papers, and use tools such as Claude, Gemini, Factiva, and Meltwater to generate insight and support complex deliverables.
  • Manage junior colleagues' work, create project plans, delegate effectively, and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Use Claude, Gemini, and the internal AI Studio for research, insight generation, and analysis at scale; contribute to sharing AI knowledge across teams, experiment with AI-powered workflows, and ensure outputs meet quality standards.
  • Apply understanding of clients' commercial contexts, contribute to internal projects, identify growth and development opportunities, improve team efficiency, and identify technologies and markets that may benefit from communications support.
  • Give and receive feedback, seek input from colleagues at all levels, and contribute to an inclusive working environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in or genuine familiarity with frontier technology, artificial intelligence, or investor communications, professionally or through self-directed engagement.
  • Experience in research, policy, developer relations, or technical content.
