Requirements
  • BS Engineering; Professional Engineer license desirable
  • 5–10+ years engineering/structural design; DOE/nuclear preferred
  • Facility Clearance; when required, DOE Clearance level for work performed
  • Knowledge of and experience with design review, structural analysis, and engineering calculations; cross-disciplinary competencies in physical sciences, civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, fire protection engineering, instrumentation and control, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, nuclear engineering
  • Ability to support operations oversight including commissioning, deactivation and decommissioning, and environmental remediation activities including soil and groundwater remediation, waste and nuclear material stabilization and disposition
Responsibilities
  • Conduct design reviews, perform structural analyses, prepare engineering calculations, and resolve technical issues
  • Provide expertise across multiple engineering disciplines (physical sciences, civil/structural, mechanical/electrical, fire protection, instrumentation and control, environmental, chemical, nuclear) including work inspection, field engineering management, and construction compliance
  • Support operations oversight including commissioning, deactivation and decommissioning, and environmental remediation activities
  • Author DOE structural engineering evaluations
  • Work at Hanford Field Office site and perform on-site tasks with some remote support; travel as coordinated with technical point of contact
  • Security clearance requirements including Facility Clearance and potential DOE clearance as indicated; ensure compliance with security and access requirements
Desired Qualifications
  • 5–10+ years engineering/structural design; DOE/nuclear preferred
  • BS Engineering; Professional Engineer license desirable
  • DOE clearance level desirable or preferred
  • Experience with environmental management sector and DOE Hanford or EMCBC programs is preferred
  • Experience with design review for nuclear facilities and regulatory compliance
