Requirements
  • The role requires 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering, applied machine learning/search, or data-centric application development.
  • The role requires 1–2 years of hands-on experience optimizing artificial intelligence and retrieval-augmented generation architectures, prompt context strategies, and vector retrieval pipelines for large language model applications.
  • The role requires advanced proficiency in Python and SQL and familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Temporal.
  • The role requires deep experience using parsing frameworks such as LlamaIndex, Unstructured.io, or LangChain document loaders to process complex layouts, tables, and unstructured documents.
  • The role requires hands-on experience with vector databases, embeddings, and semantic search platforms such as Pinecone, pgvector, Weaviate, Qdrant, or Azure AI Search.
  • The role requires familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation and large language model context evaluation frameworks such as Ragas, TruLens, or Arize Phoenix.
  • The role requires practical experience handling sensitive healthcare data, including Protected Health Information and Personally Identifiable Information, within high-compliance software environments.
  • The employee must provide a non-cellular high-speed internet service such as fiber, DSL, or cable modem for the home office, with minimum speeds of 30 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload and latency below 80 ms.
  • Hotspots, satellite internet, and wireless internet service are not allowed.
  • The employee must maintain a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member Protected Health Information and HIPAA information.
Responsibilities
  • Build and refine structured and unstructured information parsing, layout-processing, and chunking workflows that convert PDFs, clinical notes, data, and policy documents into high-quality contextual units for large language models in partnership with cross-functional teams.
  • Implement hybrid search mechanics, metadata routing, and reranking logic to improve retrieval precision and minimize model hallucinations.
  • Design context payload specifications and metadata structures that feed Model Context Protocol servers and large language model orchestration tools built by application developers.
  • Recommend and implement vector indexing strategies, embedding schemes, and semantic query designs inside enterprise-provisioned vector stores such as Pinecone, pgvector, and Azure AI Search.
  • Design and manage metadata-tagging schemes to enable precise filtering, hybrid search, and domain-specific context retrieval.
  • Establish automated evaluation frameworks to monitor retrieval relevance, context quality, groundedness scores, and embedding drift over time.
  • Ensure document processing and contextual payloads adhere to HIPAA and HITRUST standards, including automated masking and tokenization for Protected Health Information.
  • Ensure role-based access-control rules within vector metadata so artificial intelligence search queries return only contextual snippets the active user is authorized to view.
  • Maintain context tracking and audit logs for prompt payloads and establish clean data hand-off specifications when transitioning validated innovation prototypes to enterprise Data & Analytics or IT teams.
  • Build upon reference architectures, continuous integration and continuous delivery templates, and golden paths established by the Senior AI Solutions Architect.
  • Work alongside the AI Product Owner and AI Full Stack Developers to supply high-accuracy context layers for upcoming generative artificial intelligence features.
