About the job

Requirements
  • A degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Composites Technology, or equivalent hands-on experience in blade repair, inspection, and composite structures.
  • At least 3 years of direct experience in wind turbine blade repair, blade inspection, or blade services; experience at an original equipment manufacturer or specialist blade service provider is preferred.
  • Deep technical knowledge of blade damage types and failure modes, including erosion, delamination, cracking, disbonding, lightning damage, and manufacturing defects, and the corrective repair techniques for each.
  • Experience with blade anomaly classification, severity assessment, and damage documentation standards used in commercial wind farm inspections.
  • Hands-on experience with leading edge protection materials and/or ice-phobic coatings, including application processes, surface preparation techniques, laminate systems, and topcoat products.
  • Proven experience with blade quality control systems, nonconformance report processes, root cause analysis methods such as 5-Why and fishbone, and corrective and preventive action workflows.
  • Experience evaluating inspection reports and translating findings into repair recommendations, including scope-of-work definition and cost estimation.
  • Ability to interpret quality control data, identify failure patterns across materials, teams, and sites, and translate findings into engineering actions.
Responsibilities
  • Apply blade repair and inspection expertise to support the full blade service portfolio, including robotic and drone-based blade inspections, leading edge repairs, ice-phobic coating application, lightning protection system testing and repair, drainage hole cleaning, blade cleaning, and technical checkups.
  • Interface daily with the Operations Management Center and provide quality data for weekly operational reviews and board-level reporting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with blade manufacturing quality processes, such as manufacturing defect analysis, production quality control, and blade mould release.
  • Background in material testing and qualification, including mechanical testing, UV and weathering exposure, adhesion pull-off testing, environmental durability, and ice-phobic performance testing.
  • Experience with lightning protection system testing, troubleshooting, down conductor repair, or receptor assessment against industry standards such as BWE and IEC.
  • Experience with multiple blade types and original equipment manufacturer platforms, including GE, SGRE, Vestas, and Nordex, and understanding how repair and inspection procedures vary by blade design, composite layup, and coating system.
  • Familiarity with robotic or autonomous blade inspection and repair systems and how they affect data collection and application technique requirements.
  • Rope access certification (IRATA/SPRAT) or a deep understanding of uptower work constraints and how they affect inspection and repair quality.
  • Experience building or contributing to quality control dashboards, inspection databases, anomaly tracking platforms, or blade condition monitoring tools.
  • Multi-site or multi-country blade service experience and understanding of how climate, blade age, and regional original equipment manufacturer specifications affect inspection findings and repair approaches.
