Palou's fifth title shifts IndyCar's Power balance.

Palou's fifth title shifts IndyCar's Power balance. It still doesn't sound real. Chip Ganassi Racing clinched it at Milwaukee last week, and by the time the checkered flag fell at Laguna Seca on September 6, the storyline had already moved past "is Palou good" and into something bigger. IndyCar's competitive center of gravity is shifting. It's dragging the entire 2027 silly season with it. By Marco T. Motorsport analyst, 11 years covering open-wheel racing. Scott McLaughlin snapped a 36-race winless streak in that Laguna Seca finale, which should have been Penske's headline moment. Instead it got buried under bigger news: Will Power, a Team Penske fixture for 17 years, is out. Not retiring quietly. Out, with the kind of abruptness that makes you wonder what happened behind closed doors. Meanwhile Scott Dixon left Ganassi after a quarter-century association, though on far friendlier terms, taking championships and records with him as he goes. Two of IndyCar's most stable partnerships just came apart in the same month. That's not a coincidence worth ignoring. What Power's exit actually signals. Here's the thing about Will Power leaving Penske after 17 years. It's not really about Power. It's about what Penske does next, and whether the answer is fast enough to matter in 2027. Penske built its modern IndyCar identity around continuity. Power, Josef Newgarden, McLaughlin. Drivers who stayed put, developed chemistry with engineers over years, and delivered when it counted. Breaking that model, even by losing one piece, forces a reset that teams like Ganassi simply haven't needed. Palou has been with Ganassi since 2021. Dixon's departure this year actually reinforces the point rather than undercutting it. Ganassi handled a 25-year exit with grace and a plan. Penske is scrambling mid-shuffle. McLaughlin's win matters on paper. Fox Sports' silly season tracker already has Mick Schumacher linked to a 2027 Meyer Shank seat, which tells you how fast the domino effect is spreading beyond just the top two teams. Ganassi isn't losing sleep over any of it. They're the ones setting the pace. Everyone else is reacting. For readers who've been tracking IndyCar futures and next-season outlooks the way bettors track baseball win totals in April, this offseason churn is exactly the kind of uncertainty that moves odds boards. If you're the type who likes to get ahead of a market before it settles, this is the moment. You can read about the best betting sites covering early 2027 IndyCar outlooks while the picture is still forming, before the lines tighten up once preseason testing starts. Gambling carries real risk, so only wager what you can afford to lose, and if it stops feeling like fun, BeGambleAware.org has resources worth checking. The numbers behind Palou's dominance. Five titles in seven years isn't just good. It's a stretch that invites comparison to genuine legends of the sport, and RaceFans' account of the Milwaukee clinch laid out just how comfortable the margin was heading into the final rounds. Palou wrapped it up with races still on the calendar. That's not a photo finish. That's a team operating a tier above. Compare that to Penske's 2026 season. Newgarden had flashes. McLaughlin's win came in the very last race of the year, breaking a streak that had stretched back more than three dozen starts. Power, the guy who just got shown the door, was solid but unspectacular. Solid doesn't win championships anymore. Not against a Ganassi lineup this deep. What should worry Penske fans isn't one bad season. It's that Ganassi's edge looks built into the system, not lucky. Strategy calls, pit execution, driver development. All three have been sharper at Ganassi for multiple years running now. Where the 2027 grid actually stands. INDYCAR's own reporting on the 2027 silly season confirms Penske's broader lineup is staying largely intact even as individual pieces shift, which makes Power's departure feel less like a rebuild and more like a signal. Something specific went wrong there. Teams don't usually cut ties with a 17-year veteran over performance alone. Dixon's Ganassi exit, by contrast, reads like a natural conclusion to an era rather than a crisis. He leaves with records, respect, and reportedly a continued relationship with the team in some capacity. That's the difference between an organization managing a transition and one absorbing a shock. Rosenqvist topping practice at Laguna Seca in the same week added another wrinkle. Younger talent is pushing into spaces that used to be locked down by the old guard. Mick Schumacher's rumored move to Meyer Shank for 2027 fits that same pattern. The grid isn't just reshuffling at the top two teams. It's loosening everywhere. None of this guarantees Ganassi repeats in 2027. Championships don't work that way, and IndyCar has punished complacency before. But the foundation Ganassi has built, and the uncertainty Penske now has to manage without Power, tilts the early outlook in one clear direction. Frequently asked questions. Why did Will Power leave Team Penske after 17 years? Penske hasn't given a detailed public explanation, and Power himself has been measured in interviews. The timing, right after a season that fell short of title contention, suggests performance and fit concerns rather than a mutual, amicable split like Dixon's Ganassi exit. How many IndyCar championships has Alex Palou won? Palou clinched his fifth title in seven years at Milwaukee in late August 2026, cementing his status as the dominant force of this IndyCar era and pulling well clear of the field before the season even finished. Is Scott Dixon still involved with Chip Ganassi Racing? Dixon departed Ganassi after 25 years associated with the team, closing one of IndyCar's longest driver-team partnerships. The exit has been described as amicable, unlike the more abrupt circumstances surrounding Power's Penske departure. What does the 2027 IndyCar silly season look like so far? Multiple teams are reshuffling. Mick Schumacher is linked to Meyer Shank, Penske is replacing Power, and younger drivers like Felix Rosenqvist are pushing for bigger roles. Expect more movement before preseason testing begins. The Power shift is real, even if it's not permanent. IndyCar doesn't hand out five championships in seven years accidentally. Ganassi built something durable, and Penske's silly season churn this offseason looks like an organization trying to catch up rather than one setting the pace. Whether that gap closes before the 2027 season opener is the question worth watching. For now, the smart money is on more of the same.

Maximilian Guenther set to join Envision Racing for Formula E's Gen4 era.

Maximilian Guenther set to join Envision Racing for Formula E's Gen4 era. - July 31, 2026 - - Guenther poised for Envision move. Maximilian Guenther is set to join Envision Racing next Formula E season after talks with the Chinese-owned team concluded with an agreement earlier this month, according to The Race. The move would bring the seven-time E-Prix winner to a team that has recently confirmed it will continue as a customer outfit with Jaguar. Guenther has spent the past two campaigns with DS Penske and was understood to have held initial discussions about extending that relationship into a third season. However, uncertainty surrounding Penske's Gen4 direction appears to have become a decisive factor. DS has withdrawn, while Penske has yet to provide concrete details of the car it intends to run. Against that backdrop, Envision's clearer customer arrangement offered Guenther a more defined path into the next rules period. Guenther's seven victories have been achieved with BMW i Andretti, Maserati MSG and DS Penske, with his first success coming at the 2020 Santiago E-Prix. His current campaign, however, has been among his most difficult. Generally poor powertrain efficiency and suboptimal strategic outcomes have repeatedly compromised his results. The latest Formula E news has already underlined how quickly the driver market can shift as teams prepare for Gen4, and Guenther's expected move is another significant piece of that puzzle. Formula E's Tokyo night-race storylines provide a recent reminder of the competitive uncertainty that continues to shape the championship. Envision's line-up remains unresolved. Envision has been operating in a holding pattern over its driver line-up, largely because clashes between two E-Prix events and the FIA World Endurance Championship calendar have complicated Sebastien Buemi's position. The possibility that next May's Monaco E-Prix could be brought forward by several weeks has emerged as an important positive for Buemi's potential continuation into a fourth rules set. Yet it remains unclear whether Buemi or team-mate Joel Eriksson would make way for Guenther. Eriksson has impressed since returning to the all-electric world championship after a three-and-a-half-year absence. His podium at the Shanghai E-Prix earlier this month was his best result to date, but it has not settled Envision's 2026/27 pairing. Penske's Gen4 uncertainty. Guenther's departure from Penske was not expected until the team's unresolved Gen4 plans became increasingly apparent. The American-owned, British-based organisation has known for more than six months that it would need either a new manufacturer partner or an independent programme. Penske has also discussed a potential customer supply with several manufacturers since the start of the year. Deputy team principal Phil Charles declined to comment in Tokyo, saying only that Penske is "gearing up for the Gen4 period and will be on the grid." Neither Envision nor DS Penske commented on Guenther's future. Simone scanu. He's a software engineer with a deep passion for Formula 1 and motorsport. Gold Medal Bakery and Penske partner to optimize delivery operations and maintain quality standards.

Gold Medal Bakery and Penske partner to optimize delivery operations and maintain quality standards. Gold Medal Bakery Jul 25, 2026, 15:40 ET Gold Medal Bakery's new partnership with Penske redefines what grocery retailers can expect from a private-label bread supplier, offering far more than just competitive pricing. With Penske expertly managing logistics, Gold Medal Bakery ensures retailers have reliably stocked shelves and fresh bread for their customers, transforming every delivery into a promise fulfilled. FALL RIVER, Mass., July 25, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ - Gold Medal Bakery, a Massachusetts-based commercial bakery and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) distributor, recently announced a logistics and fleet management partnership with Penske to strengthen delivery operations across the grocery industry. This partnership reinforces the supply standard for on-time bread deliveries and consistently stocked retail shelves. What Sets White-Label Bread Manufacturers Apart From a Branded Bread Supplier? White-label bread manufacturers produce bread that is sold under a retailer's own brand name. In contrast, a branded bread supplier produces and markets products under their own proprietary brand names. Retailers often weigh the benefits of white-label bread manufacturing vs. branded bread when deciding how to stock their shelves, considering price, margins and the level of control they have over branding, quality and customer experience. Gold Medal Bakery has built its reputation on the quality and consistency of its commercial bread programs. Beyond standard white labeling, it provides co-packing services, meaning it can bake specialty breads using a retailer's proprietary recipe. As Gold Medal Bakery's fresh bread leaves the oven, its seamless delivery to grocery shelves relies on a vital partnership with Penske, a recognized leader in commercial fleet management. This collaboration strengthens the reliability of the bakery's expanding distribution network, enabling it to confidently scale its operations. As Penske handles fleet logistics behind the scenes, Gold Medal Bakery can focus on crafting and delivering the highest-quality bread for grocery retailers and their customers. What Are the Benefits of Using a Traditional Bakery Supplier in Grocery Retail? Working with a traditional bakery supplier like Gold Medal Bakery lets grocery retailers gain a dedicated DSD network, in-store merchandising support and a sales team that actively manages their bread programs, positioning the bakery category for stronger, more consistent shelf performance. The partnership with Penske significantly boosts Gold Medal Bakery's ability to deliver on its promises. With enhanced delivery reliability, the company can fulfill orders on a tighter schedule, ensuring retail shelves stay stocked with fresh bread and shoppers find what they need. For the communities Gold Medal Bakery's retail partners serve, that means a dependable supply of high-quality commercial bread, available when and where it is needed. Frequently Asked Questions Below are answers to common questions about working with a full-service bakery for commercial bread distribution. How do private-label bread suppliers compare to traditional bakery vendors? Private-label bread suppliers typically focus on producing bread under a retailer's brand, while traditional bakery vendors may provide broader operational support, including direct store delivery, merchandising help, order flexibility and retail account management. Gold Medal Bakery offers both private-label bread programs and traditional bakery supplier support, providing grocery retailers with product quality, distribution and in-store service. What should grocery buyers look for when choosing a bread supplier for their grocery stores? Grocery buyers choosing a bread supplier for their grocery store should look beyond product price and evaluate delivery reliability, order flexibility, private label options and in-store account support. Gary Bone appointed Penske executive general manager of on-highway.

Gary Bone appointed Penske executive general manager of on-highway. Reading Time: 2 mins read Penske Australia & New Zealand has appointed Gary Bone as executive general manager of on-highway following the resignation of Craig Lee, who will leave the company in June after more than a decade with the business. Bone joined Penske in early 2025 as general manager of eastern operations, overseeing the company's New South Wales and Queensland operations across both on- and off-highway services. He previously held senior executive roles with Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks. Penske Australia & New Zealand managing director Hamish Christie-Johnston says Lee is leaving to lead a privately owned business in the road transport industry. "After 11 years with Penske, Craig has decided to step down from his role as executive general manager of on-highway to lead a privately owned business in the road transport industry," Christie-Johnston says. "During his extensive tenure, Craig has held several senior roles within its organisation, culminating in leading the wholesale and retail truck business. "He never shied away from the toughest challenges and consistently strengthened the areas of the business under his leadership. "With our sincere thanks and best wishes, Craig will conclude his time with Penske mid-year." Christie-Johnston says Bone was the natural choice to take over the role. "TransportTalk is delighted that Gary has accepted the responsibility of succeeding Craig in the role. "In his time with the business, Gary has made a strong impact and was the natural choice to step into this position. His appointment is a testament to the depth and capability of our senior leadership team." In his new role, Bone will oversee truck and bus retail and fleet sales, OEM relationships, on-highway aftersales, on-highway sales administration, dealer development, and the on-highway vehicle processing centre in Wacol, Queensland.
