Requirements
  • Currently progressing toward a Juris Doctor degree and have completed the first year of law school.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 10–12 weeks during the summer.
  • Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
  • Able to work Central or Eastern time zone business hours, or located in the Central or Eastern United States time zones.
Responsibilities
  • Gather and analyze facts and apply appropriate laws, regulations, and legal standards to assist with providing legal counsel related to insurance contracts; marketing agreements; sales and marketing materials; policy interpretation, claims processes, and processing individual claims; individual, worksite, and group underwriting processes for life and health insurance policies; policyholder issues; attorney, consumer, and regulatory inquiries and complaints; risk assessment and mitigation in fraud investigations and determinations; and employment matters.
  • Work with and provide support to Compliance, Employment, Litigation, Privacy, Legal Operations, and Government Relations within the Law Department.
