Requirements
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Radiation Therapy certification.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and specialized magnetic resonance imaging procedures for inpatients, outpatients, and emergency department patients of all ages.
  • Perform assigned supervisory functions.
  • Adhere to MRI safety standards.
  • Verify physician orders, consult radiologists as necessary, prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and provide patient education and instructions as appropriate.
  • Perform magnetic resonance imaging studies and administer contrast media using age-related technical and positioning protocols and safety procedures according to department policies and procedures.
  • Assist radiologists with MR procedures as requested.
  • Evaluate MRI images for technical quality.
  • Operate and maintain MRI and associated equipment and supplies, including equipment warm-up, calibration, and safety checks.
  • Operate the hospital computer system and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Operate equipment according to manufacturer guidelines for appropriate quality control.
  • Complete documentation according to guidelines.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and professional standards.
Desired Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of clinical MRI scanning experience.
