What believers are saying

  • In 2026, rios.ai offers IP licensing and open-source repositories, reducing adoption friction.
  • Existing deployments span four production workcells and 25-plus edge sites.
  • Yamaha-backed Series B funding validated industrial demand and financed sector-specific rollout.

What critics are saying

  • rios.ai now says 2018-2026, signaling shutdown or asset liquidation.
  • Customers lose product support, pushing migrations to ABB, Fanuc, or Siemens immediately.
  • IP licensing without an operating company destroys recurring revenue and kills hiring.

What makes RIOS unique

  • RIOS built tactile-sensing robot workcells for unstructured factory tasks, not pure software.
  • Its AI Industrial Engineering Platform combines machine vision, edge AI, and modular hardware.
  • It targets wood products, beverages, and packaged foods with workflow-specific automation.
