About the company

Mpower Direct runs the direct sales and marketing arm for Mpower Energy, focusing on face-to-face outreach to bring in customers for renewable energy. Its teams of sales consultants visit homes and businesses, trained to explain the benefits of switching to 100% renewable electricity. The sales force is equipped with tablets that show territory details and digital sales agreements to speed up transactions. The company mainly serves the East Coast (New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania) and uses its in-house sales infrastructure to recruit and manage agents who secure new customers for Mpower Energy. Compared with competitors, it relies on a large field-based sales force and technology-enabled in-person selling to grow a renewable-energy customer base quickly, rather than relying primarily on online or outbound marketing. The overall goal is to expand the adoption of clean energy by building and scaling a direct sales organization that adds more customers for Mpower Energy.
