Requirements
  • A Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • An active Occupational Therapist license in the state of practice.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients for rehabilitation services within 24 to 48 hours of physician orders.
  • Develop and implement effective, individualized treatment plans.
  • Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants in clinical delivery.
  • Communicate progress with physicians, clinical managers, patients, and family members.
  • Participate in care meetings and interdisciplinary team discussions.
  • Document services accurately, completing daily billing and treatment notes per policy.
  • Instruct families and nursing staff on patient maintenance and restorative programs.
  • Assist with discharge planning and recommend necessary adaptive equipment.
  • Supervise Occupational Therapy and Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant students from affiliating universities and colleges.
  • Evaluate, treat, and supervise patients to improve mobility, cognition, strength, and activities of daily living.
  • Work in accordance with American Occupational Therapy Association guidelines and collaborate with families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team.
