Dated: October 20 2026 Photo: State Route 581 in Hampden Township, by Famartin, via Wikimedia Commons, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. Fall is shaping up to be a busy season for new spots on the West Shore. An indoor golf club, a Korean bakery café, a new wings-and-pizza restaurant and a Smoothie King are all planned along Market Street in Camp Hill, while a new Chipotle and a newly rebranded hotel are already up and running in Upper Allen Township. PennLive rounded up many of these in its Oct. 20 look at new central PA businesses. The Turn Indoor Golf. The Turn Indoor Golf is planned for 3730 Market St., Camp Hill, in the Shoppes of Hampden. The existing hotel at 385 Cumberland Pkwy. in Upper Allen Township has rebranded as Spark by Hilton Mechanicsburg Harrisburg West, Hilton's "premium economy" brand. The Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce marked the change with a ribbon cutting. It's handy for visiting family, right off U.S. 15 and the PA Turnpike, and offers: * | Free breakfast and free parking * | An indoor heated pool and fitness center * | Pet-friendly rooms Locations. Why it matters for Hampden & West Shore neighbors. When people tell me what they want in a place to live, "things to do close to home" comes up again and again. A night out at an indoor golf club, a new bakery café for weekend coffee, or a quick drive-thru burrito bowl on the way home all add to the everyday convenience that makes the West Shore so appealing. It's also good to see empty spaces like the former Rite Aid and El Sol Cantina get new life. Busy, well-used storefronts are a sign of a healthy neighborhood, and that's something both buyers and homeowners notice. Which one are you most looking forward to trying? I'd love to hear. Smoothie King replacing former 45th Ave Crab House & Bar in North Myrtle Beach.

Smoothie King replacing former 45th Ave Crab House & Bar in North Myrtle Beach. The new Smoothie King will open at 4515 highway 17 South this December. Published Date: October 15, 2026, 10:37 AM EDT Smoothie King, the smoothie brand with "50+ years of nutritional expertise," is continuing its growth in South Carolina. With two locations already open in Myrtle Beach and across the Carolinas, franchise owner Brian Leachman says a new Smoothie King is preparing to open this December, replacing the former 45th Ave Crab House & Bar at 4515 Hwy 17 S. For Leachman, who owns and operates Smoothie King locations in partnership with Keri Leachman, franchising with Smoothie King has been a family operation from the start, and it continues as a remembrance of their son, a former motocross rider who tragically passed away. "We've carried on his legacy," Leachman said. And successfully so. The new North Myrtle Beach location will be Leachman's tenth Smoothie King, and third in the Myrtle Beach area. "We have a great following already in the Grand Strand," says Leachman. "We currently have people driving all the way down from North Myrtle Beach. People were asking if we were going to bring one up there, and we said yes." The North Myrtle Beach location will feature a drive-thru, serving up Smoothie King's wide variety of healthy choices, with vegan options, fitness smoothies, weight management smoothies, acai bowls, loaded toasts, flatbreads, and lots more. And that's not all the group has in the works. Their first Salata Salad Kitchen is preparing to open in Greenville next month, with further moves to bring the brand to the Atlantic coast. Smoothie King sign up at new south Loudoun location.

Smoothie King sign up at new south Loudoun location. The sign has gone up for the first tenant coming to a new restaurant center in southern Loudoun County. Crews working on the new Smoothie King store have hung the sign on the facade at 43341 Defender Drive in the South Riding/Chantilly area and work is well underway inside the space. As The Burn has reported, Smoothie King is just one of five new food tenants planned for the center. The others include a Haraz Coffee House, a Cold Stone Creamery, an Apna Pizza, and a sit-down restaurant called Forefathers. You can see more about Forefathers here. No official word yet when the restaurants on Defender Drive will start to open - but it appears that Smoothie King is in the lead at the moment. An unofficial online listing says they are aiming to start "blending" in late November.
