Position requires onsite presence in Bakersfield, CA.
- Working knowledge of Caltrans Standard Specifications, filing system, and construction procedures
- Three years of experience as a construction inspector performing quality control inspections
- Experience inspecting sewer and storm drain construction
- Working knowledge of the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction (aka Green Book)
- Knowledge of materials inspection and testing methods and procedures for concrete, soil, and asphalt.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety requirements
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with managing change orders
- Knowledge in interpreting construction survey stakes
- Residence within a 45-mile radius of the city of Bakersfield
- Perform construction inspection services for capital improvement projects and development projects.
- Attend pre-construction conferences for assigned projects
- Perform quality control inspections to verify conformance with plans and specifications
- Prepare daily reports of construction progress, labor force, measured quantities, and discussions
- Recommend monthly progress payments
