Chartered accountancy firm Lovewell Blake has appointed James Cooper as a corporate finance partner to co-lead the team alongside Matt Crawley. The appointment marks Cooper's return to Lovewell Blake, where he spent 11 years between 2005 and 2016. During his time at the firm, he qualified as both an accountant and a corporate finance practitioner. Cooper has since held senior positions across regional and national corporate finance practices, including a role at a regional M&A boutique and a partnership at a national corporate finance and business advisory firm. Kevin Bunting, managing partner of Lovewell Blake, said: "James brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the firm and this is an important step in the continuing growth of our corporate finance team. The team has seen significant deal flow for a number of years and James's arrival will further strengthen and grow our offering." Cooper added: "This is a full circle moment for me to be welcomed to the partnership, having spent an enjoyable decade at Lovewell Blake earlier in my career. I am excited to bring my national and regional experience of the lower-mid M&A market to Lovewell Blake corporate finance and look forward to reconnecting with colleagues and clients."
