Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 8 years of demonstrated or practical experience is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Major Command logistical organizations, capabilities, mission analysis, and current Major Command-level operational plans is required.
  • Knowledge of logistics contingency-planning principles, theories, and concepts is required.
  • Ability to research, develop, and exercise logistics contingency plans is required.
  • Knowledge of Major Command missions and programs to develop logistics portions of plans and exercises and provide logistics advice is required.
  • Ability to conduct studies assessing and analyzing issues or problems involving supply, services, and maintenance is required.
  • Sufficient oral communication skills to brief the G-4, Command Group, or other high-level organizations and individuals are required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance is required.
  • Ability to work outside normal work hours at short notice as workload dictates is required.
  • Ability to work away from the primary work location beyond normal workday hours is required.
  • Ability to travel outside the United States is required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform logistics management functions involving planning, coordinating, and evaluating logistical actions required to support specified missions or programs.
  • Formulate logistics plans, operations, and procedures.
  • Attend high-level meetings.
  • Investigate logistics problems and deficiencies, coordinate responses, and recommend resolutions.
  • Develop logistics plans and support operations for Major Command projects.
  • Ensure execution and integration of plans and operations across supply, transportation, integrated logistics support, and maintenance programs.
  • Determine the effects of higher-echelon orders on logistics support plans or operations and take action to minimize adverse impacts.
  • Advise the supervisor on formulating plans to implement Major Command logistics requirements.
  • Analyze interrelated issues concerning the effectiveness and efficiency of logistics programs.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and manage Major Command logistics-support efforts.
  • Investigate and analyze difficult logistics problems and conditions associated with logistics operations.
  • Provide solutions to logistics problems across various echelons and locations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience obtaining a Top Secret clearance is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting Army sustainment operations, including supply, maintenance, transportation, or distribution management, is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are preferred.
