  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 12 years of experience in Global Trade, export compliance, trade technology or related roles, including experience with export control and sanctions regulations; alternatively, an advanced degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Substantive knowledge of Global Trade requirements across jurisdiction and classification, authorizations, tangible and intangible transfers, and sanctions and screening.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply Global Trade requirements to complex business and technology environments and to explain, defend and challenge requirements with senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working with automated trade compliance systems and digital technologies, such as enterprise resource planning and Global Trade Services platforms, classification solutions, screening platforms, data governance, access-control solutions or similar technologies.
  • Experience in a highly regulated industry or complex global environment, such as aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing, automotive, semiconductors, energy, life sciences, technology or a similar industry.
  • Experience working within or closely with a Digital Technology organization, with an understanding of enterprise architecture, application development, data, access controls and technology delivery processes.
  • Strong strategic and analytical ability to understand complex problems, identify real risks and translate them into clear business and technology decisions.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills within a matrixed, global organization involving Global Trade, Digital Technology, business functions and corporate stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands, escalate risks and drive issues to resolution.
  • Very good knowledge of English to read and understand documentation and technical terms daily and to write and communicate with customers, suppliers or international colleagues in English.
Responsibilities
  • Lead the integration of Global Trade into the digital enterprise, ensuring Global Trade requirements are embedded early in digital strategies, projects, applications and technology solutions for Pratt & Whitney and its global sites.
  • Serve as a senior Global Trade advisor across Digital Technology and business transformation initiatives, with substantive knowledge across jurisdiction and classification, authorizations and licensing, tangible import and export transfers, intangible transfers, sanctions and screening.
  • Translate Global Trade requirements into clear business and technology requirements, and explain, defend and challenge them with Global Trade, Digital Technology, business leaders, project teams and senior executives.
  • Assess and challenge technology and business initiatives when project priorities, Global Trade requirements, compliance risks or business objectives are not aligned; develop recommendations and drive issues to resolution.
  • Lead the evolution of the Automated Export Control System value stream by defining future-state capabilities and advancing scalable automation, data-driven controls and Attribute-Based Access Control.
  • Establish the Global Trade governance and engagement model for technology initiatives, ensuring appropriate involvement throughout the project lifecycle and incorporation of requirements into architecture, processes, systems of record and controls.
  • Assess and strengthen the Global Trade control environment across digital tools and processes by identifying capability gaps, emerging risks and opportunities to improve automation, scalability and operational efficiency.
  • Influence enterprise and corporate Global Trade initiatives, ensuring business requirements and risks are understood and aligned with enterprise strategies and standards.
  • Provide strategic leadership and portfolio visibility, clarify complex issues, surface risks and dependencies, and enable senior leaders to make informed decisions.
  • Build relationships and lead through influence across Global Trade, Digital Technology and business functions, removing barriers and driving alignment in a highly matrixed global organization.
  • Challenge the status quo and identify opportunities to improve Global Trade compliance through technology, processes and data.
  • Travel between company sites as needed for project support, approximately 10% of the time.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with enterprise platforms and technologies such as SAP, SAP Global Trade Services, classification and licensing solutions, sanctions screening, identity and access management, data governance or other compliance automation technologies.
  • Experience designing or implementing automated Global Trade controls, export compliance systems, digital compliance capabilities or Attribute-Based Access Control.
  • Experience translating regulatory or compliance requirements into technology requirements, system controls and scalable business processes.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to evaluate risk, business value, cost and operational impact when making recommendations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with senior executives and demanding stakeholders, challenge decisions constructively and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex Global Trade and technology issues and present clear, concise recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies, business units and regulatory environments.

RTX's Raytheon secures $24.4B contract for SM-6 interceptors

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a five-year contract worth up to $24.4 billion for Standard Missile-6 (SM-6) interceptors. The contract includes two additional option years. The agreement ensures a consistent supply of SM-6s for the US Navy. The missile can conduct offensive strikes and missile defense missions. Raytheon President Phil Jasper said the company is focused on meeting demand through operational investments and facility improvements. The firm has expanded its workforce, strengthened partnerships across the defence industrial base, and automated production to boost output. SM-6 is the only combat-proven weapon capable of performing anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, and ballistic missile defence. It can be fired from various Navy ship-based platforms and land-based launchers.

United Airlines receives first GTF Advantage-powered A321XLR from RTX's Pratt & Whitney

United Airlines has received its first Airbus A321XLR aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney's GTF Advantage engines, marking the inaugural delivery of this enhanced engine variant. The GTF Advantage offers up to twice the operational lifespan of current GTF engines and provides 4-8% more takeoff thrust, enabling extended range capabilities. The engine features an advanced hot section design and remains fully compatible with existing GTF models, simplifying fleet operations. Pratt & Whitney, an RTX business, plans to transition its entire PW1100G-JM production line to the Advantage specification by 2028. Current GTF operators will be able to access 90-95% of the Advantage's durability improvements through a Hot Section Plus upgrade option, available from early next year during scheduled maintenance visits.

Pratt & Whitney invests $25M to expand Poland manufacturing, adding 120 jobs

RTX's Pratt & Whitney is investing $25 million to expand its manufacturing facility in Niepołomice, Poland. The site produces complex tubular assemblies for commercial and military engines. The expansion, supported by the Polish government through the Polish Investment Zone Programme, will add more than 120 jobs when it becomes operational in 2028. The facility currently manufactures precision components for multiple engine types, including the GTF engine for commercial aircraft and the F135 for F-35 fighter aircraft. This investment is part of Pratt & Whitney's $125 million commitment to Polish facilities this year, including a $100 million investment in Rzeszow. Poland represents RTX's largest investment base outside the United States, with more than 9,500 employees across its businesses in-country.

RTX's $289 billion backlog splits 60% commercial aerospace and 40% defence, a combination that benefits both divisions. The commercial segment's strong profitability allows the defence business to avoid risky fixed-price development contracts that have troubled competitors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This flexibility enabled RTX to terminate an unfavourable classified programme in 2024, taking a $575 million charge rather than pursuing losses. CEO Chris Calio said the contract fell outside the company's core competencies and predated RTX's formation. The arrangement works both ways. Defence earnings supported RTX through a costly powder metal coating issue affecting its geared turbofan engine. The structure allows RTX to focus on established defence solutions like Patriot missiles whilst maintaining investment in commercial aerospace during downturns.

RTX's Raytheon wins $22.9B contract to accelerate Tomahawk missile production

Raytheon, an RTX business, has secured a seven-year, $22.9 billion contract from the US Navy to accelerate production of Tomahawk cruise missiles. The agreement, part of the Department of War's Arsenal of Freedom initiative, will support ramping annual production to over 1,000 missiles. RTX has already tripled Tomahawk deliveries in the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. The contract will enable the company to expand capacity and work with hundreds of suppliers nationwide to scale output. Tomahawk cruise missiles provide long-range strike capabilities, allowing the Navy to target hostile forces from hundreds of miles away across multiple launch platforms.
