Requirements
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Obtain ICS-100 or equivalent and IS-700 or equivalent upon hire, and ICS-200 or equivalent and IS-800 or equivalent within the first year of employment.
  • Hold current New Jersey Emergency Medical Technician certification or be eligible for reciprocity.
  • Hold Basic Life Support certification.
  • Hold a current state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Be physically able to work in all weather and environmental conditions, lift and move patients in all circumstances, and perform duties consistent with providing Advanced Life Support and/or Basic Life Support in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Be at least 21 years of age by the start date.
  • For employee base fleet driver eligibility, be between 21 and 79 years of age, show proof of valid personal automobile insurance coverage in New Jersey, and have no reported driving-related violations or accidents in the past three years.
Responsibilities
  • Provide pre-hospital Basic Life Support care in all weather conditions in cooperation with other Emergency Medical Services providers as a member of the patient care team.
  • Assess, treat, lift, move, and transport patients of all ages experiencing injury or illness to appropriate medical facilities using appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Complete all required documentation and other assigned duties that support efficient Emergency Medical Services operations while maintaining a professional attitude.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of experience as a Certified EMT-B in a 911 system.
  • National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification is preferred.
