Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field, and two years of experience in exporting materials and supplies, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, database applications, and cloud-based applications and software.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds and to bend, stoop, and twist.
  • A valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record may be required.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the life cycle from purchase to delivery at overseas offices.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for supply chain and ensure compliance with all export regulations.
  • Analyze and develop supply-chain processes and identify opportunities to streamline operations.
  • Liaise with programs and country offices to procure materials and supplies and ensure timely delivery at overseas offices.
  • Pack and repack supplies and prepare them for shipment, including appropriate packaging for temperature-sensitive, fragile, or hazardous materials.
  • Lead the import of laboratory samples and other items into the United States while adhering to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, United States Department of Agriculture, and Food and Drug Administration import requirements for biological materials.
  • Report to the Supervisor, Contracts and Procurement and provide additional support to other overseas-office projects as needed.
  • Complete Hostile Environment Awareness Training when required due to travel locations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Periodic international travel and re-entry into the United States may be required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French are a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience in importing and exporting goods out of the United States.
  • Association for Supply Chain Management or International Society of Logistics certification.
  • Previous experience working internationally with nongovernmental organizations, especially in low-resource or conflict-affected settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in procurement of supplies and working knowledge of e-procurement software.
  • Experience with cloud-based procurement, supply chain management, and inventory management applications and software.
  • Familiarity with e-procurement.
  • Dangerous Goods Certification.
  • Experience coordinating temperature-controlled shipments and laboratory sample imports and exports.
  • Experience with FAR, Schedule B, and other United States export/import regulations.
