Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead carpenters, laborers, and operators by assigning tasks and ensuring proper execution.
  • Collaborate daily with the project superintendent to generate activities for the Job Safety Analysis and present the analysis to the team.
  • Provide on-the-job training to carpenters and assist with their professional development.
  • Evaluate team-member performance and provide feedback or corrective action as necessary.
  • Collaborate with the superintendent to plan and schedule work while adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Use HCSS to track and manage material quantities.
  • Manage tools and equipment and ensure efficient use.
  • Coordinate work with other trades and subcontractors to support workflow and project integration.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to guide construction work.
  • Ensure projects are built according to plans and specifications.
  • Ensure work meets quality standards and complies with safety regulations and project specifications.
  • Address and resolve issues arising during construction.
  • Enforce on-site safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Conduct regular safety and quality inspections and address violations or deficiencies promptly.
  • Ensure work complies with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Act as a liaison among carpenters, laborers, operators, and the superintendent to ensure clear communication of project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit reports on project progress, workforce activities, incidents, and on-site issues using HCSS forms.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked using HCSS daily notes and photographs.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and delegate maintenance tasks.
  • Oversee job-site cleanliness and organization to keep the site safe and operationally efficient.
  • Monitor project costs with the project team and minimize waste and inefficiencies.
  • Assist with procuring materials and supplies so they are available when needed and within budget.
