Requirements
  • 1-3 Years of experience within a gallery or institution
  • Experience within Registration, Collections Management, and or Logistics is ideal.
  • BA in Art History, Art Business or similar
  • Focused, reliable, exacting attention to detail
  • Must be able to work with team members at all levels
  • Detail oriented with experience in managing upwards.
  • Strong Multi-tasking skills with the ability to prioritize and anticipate needs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross departmentally.
  • Passion for and knowledge of contemporary art.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with cataloging and processing all incoming artworks, including accurate entry of all pertinent data and uploading of associated images.
  • Ensure artwork has been fully and accurately processed upon receipt (i.e. cataloged accurately; dimensions and inscriptions confirmed; frame labels and COA labels applied; verso images uploaded; packing assessed).
  • Field data requests from Sales, Registration and other departments.
  • Perform regular on-site location checks.
  • Assist registration with condition reporting as needed.
  • Assist registration with local shipping.
  • Oversee and execute long-term inventory projects.
  • Compile and organize all shipping-related paperwork (i.e. releases, bills of lading, etc.) on a monthly basis for filing.
  • Assist registration with exhibition preparation, including with maquette production.
  • Assist registration with onsite photoshoots as needed.
  • Prepare and assist with Supplemental Information Sheets.
  • Assist registration and operations colleagues as needed.

  • Previous experience and a background within the commercial art world is not required.
