What believers are saying

  • Expansion to Redmond office unlocks Seattle aerospace and tech talent pool for growth.
  • Active hiring (7 open positions) positions SOE to capture growing aerospace and automotive demand.
  • High-complexity project portfolio (rocket engines, satellites, self-driving cars) commands premium consulting rates.

What critics are saying

  • SpaceX aggressively recruits SOE engineers; 200+ PCB/FPGA hires in 2025 threaten talent retention.
  • NASA's 2026 directive cuts external consultancies 40%, redirecting $150M to primes like Lockheed Martin.
  • DoD CMMC Level 3 certification delays through Q2 2026 block access to $2B defense contracts.

What makes Second Order Effects unique

  • Proven track record: 300+ projects for 130+ clients across aerospace, automotive, industrial sectors.
  • Broad technical expertise spanning power electronics, RF systems, embedded software, and mixed-signal circuits.
  • End-to-end capabilities from circuit design through PCBA and testing reduce client coordination overhead.
