Requirements
  • NYSED Qualified Healthcare Professional status through an LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMSW-LP, or MHC-LP license, or OASAS CASAC certification as an Advanced Counselor with at least a bachelor's degree or as a Master Counselor with at least a master's degree.
  • Completion of OASAS Clinical Supervision Foundations I and II, totaling 30 hours, is required for Advanced and Master Level CASACs unless the candidate is licensed as an NYSED Qualified Healthcare Professional.
  • A bachelor's degree in a Human Services field and three to five years of experience in substance use treatment, including one to two years functioning in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • A master's degree in a Human Services field and three to five years of experience in substance use treatment, including one to two years functioning in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • A master's degree in Social Work or another Human Services field and three to five years of experience in substance use treatment, including one to two years functioning in an administrative or supervisory capacity.
  • OASAS CASAC certification as an Advanced Counselor or Master Counselor if the candidate is not an NYSED-licensed Qualified Health Professional.
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule as needed in response to program and staff needs.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health records.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient records.
  • Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with strong time-management, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to supervise, coach, mentor, develop, train, and teach substance use providers and other clinical-discipline providers.
  • Ability to implement and monitor policies and procedures in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing substance abuse treatment, including confidentiality, security, and privacy of protected health information.
  • Knowledge of OASAS and CSAT guidance.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as administrative backup to the Program Director to ensure smooth day-to-day operation of the treatment facility, maintenance of a therapeutic milieu, and positive interpersonal relationships.
  • Coordinate and implement clinical services for an assigned multidisciplinary treatment delivery team.
  • Help implement and monitor policies, procedures, and systems for effective and efficient delivery of program services.
  • Provide regularly scheduled clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff.
  • Document supervisory sessions with staff.
  • Assist the Program Director with interviews and new hires, train, appraise, discipline, and potentially terminate subordinate staff as needed.
  • Identify staff training needs and plan, develop, and conduct training to maintain and improve clinical staff competency and compliance with agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure staff maintain accurate, complete, and timely patient treatment records in compliance with regulatory requirements and agency policies and procedures.
  • Ensure program staff uphold the agency Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics and comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
  • Monitor the quality of patient treatment and reporting documentation in all systems and initiate corrective actions when required.
  • Network and communicate with other departments as a member of the program management team.
  • Participate in quality-improvement and other agency committees or work groups.
  • Represent Samaritan Village at community and public forums.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
