Our Mission
At Vertical Aerospace, we are pioneering the way for electric aviation. The Valo, our eVTOL (electric, vertical, take-off and landing), 'zero emissions' aircraft will set a new safety standard for how we will navigate the sky.
We won't realise our mission following the same legacy processes and traditions our predecessors followed, instead, we want to 'redefine' aerospace best practices. We are growing quickly from a prototype business to a scaling SME, and the next few years will be critical to our success and delivering on our ambitious goals. Valo is targeting airliner-level safety certification in 2029 ahead of entering service with our airline and operator customers.

Vertical Aerospace designs and manufactures zero-emission electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft for the advanced air mobility market. Its VX4 piloted four-seat aircraft uses eight distributed electric motors for redundancy, a high-wing carbon composite structure, and an electric propulsion system built as an OEM with partner components. It differentiates itself by operating an asset-light, collaboration-driven model with established aerospace suppliers (Rolls-Royce, Honeywell, Leonardo, GKN, Solvay) to de-risk production and scale, while pursuing revenue from direct aircraft sales and options like battery-as-a-service and ready-to-fly turnkey offerings. Its goal is to decarbonize aviation and enable safe, scalable urban air mobility through certified, zero-emission aircraft.
