About the company

JPMorgan Chase runs the largest bank in the United States, which serves households and small businesses as Chase and large companies, governments, and investors as J.P. Morgan. During the 2008 financial crisis it bought the failing investment bank Bear Stearns and lender Washington Mutual, and in 2023 it took over First Republic Bank after regulators seized it. Chase takes deposits and earns interest on credit cards, mortgages, and car loans, while the investment side earns fees for advising on mergers, raising money for companies, trading stocks and bonds, and managing wealth. Formed in a 2000 merger, JPMorgan Chase traces its roots to 1799 and is based in New York City.

JPMorgan launches tokenized money market fund to capture US stablecoin reserve infrastructure

JPMorgan Chase has launched JLTXX, a tokenised US money market fund on Ethereum aimed at institutional clients. The bank is working with BlackRock to provide tokenised money market products that could support future US stablecoin reserves. Both firms are building fund infrastructure aligned with new GENIUS Act rules, which require regulated backing for US stablecoin issuers by 2027. JPMorgan's move represents a push to control the reserve infrastructure that future stablecoin issuers may rely on. If JPMorgan becomes the default reserve rail for regulated US stablecoins, it could generate fee-earning infrastructure revenue. However, the initiative adds to JPMorgan's technology spending, whilst competitors including Citigroup and Bank of America are also pursuing digital asset infrastructure.

Unison Energy secures $120M JPMorgan credit facility for distributed energy growth

Unison Energy has secured a five-year, $120 million credit facility from JPMorgan Chase Bank to expand its distributed energy and on-site power generation portfolio. The facility includes an additional $50 million accordion option, subject to credit approval. The Greenwich, Connecticut-based company provides on-site power generation through an Energy-as-a-Service model for critical infrastructure facilities across North America, including hospitals, data centers, and industrial facilities. Unison designs, builds, owns and operates microgrids at customer locations, aiming to reduce energy costs and improve resiliency without requiring upfront capital investments from customers. JPMorgan structured the financing as a flexible warehouse-style facility, allowing Unison to add and remove qualified projects from the borrowing base. The financing follows Tiger Infrastructure Partners' acquisition of Unison in 2024. Norton Rose Fulbright advised Unison on the financing, whilst Milbank advised JPMorgan.
