Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing with a current Licensed Practical Nurse license.
  • Experience working with residents with Alzheimer's disease or other related dementias.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations and nursing practices, techniques, and methods applied to health and wellness residents.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and Microsoft Office, including Windows, Outlook, and Excel, with the ability to learn new applications.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach with the hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell while performing the duties of the job.
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds and intermittently lift and support residents using proper body mechanics.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Wellness Director in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the department and its programs and activities in accordance with current rules, regulations, and guidelines governing the facility.
  • Assist in developing, maintaining, and periodically updating written policies and procedures governing the day-to-day functions of the Wellness Department, including defining nursing service objectives and philosophies.
  • Assist the Wellness Director in making written and oral reports and recommendations to the Executive Director concerning department operations.
  • Develop methods for coordinating nursing services with other resident services to ensure continuity of residents' total care regimen.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain an ongoing quality assurance program for the department based on clinical indicators, the monthly quality indicator report, and identified issues or problems.
  • Develop short- and long-term departmental plans compatible with those of the center and Brandywine Living.
  • Serve as a role model in care delivery and provide current, research-based clinical expertise and advanced clinical decision-making.
  • Help supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by certified nursing assistants.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least two years of experience in a long-term care, assisted living, home health, or hospital setting.
