- The candidate must be able to read, write, understand, and follow directions.
- The candidate must have no substantiated findings on the North Carolina Personnel Registry or Health Care Program.
- The candidate must have clear SBI and DMV records and maintain them during employment.
- The candidate must be at least 16 years old.
- The candidate must be able to lift, push, or pull a minimum of 50 pounds.
- The candidate must obtain a two-step tuberculin skin test, with the first step before hire and the second step within two weeks of the first test.
- The candidate must wear slip-resistant shoes while working in dietary at all times.
- Make all beverages, including coffee, tea, and juices.
- Serve residents their food in a courteous and timely manner.
- Ensure tables have proper setup items, including butter, jelly, sugar, and sweetener.
- Help portion out desserts.
- Ensure linens are picked up by laundry after each meal, cleaned, and returned for the next meal.
- Complete table setup in a timely manner after each meal.
- Sweep and mop the dining room after each meal.
- Wash dishes.
- Empty garbage daily as needed, at least once a day.
- Assist with stocking the pantry when groceries arrive.
- Keep the stockroom straightened and clean.
- Sweep and mop stockrooms regularly.
- Keep refrigerators neat, clean, and wiped down daily.
- Keep bins, drains under sinks, and the tea and coffee service table clean.
- Wash floor mats and trash cans on Saturday.
- Help maintain each resident's self-respect, personal dignity, and physical safety.
- Be familiar with the Adult Care Home Residents' Bill of Rights and assist residents with exercising these rights.
- Assure careful treatment of Adult Care Home equipment and proper utilization of supplies.
- Read and adhere to all Adult Care Home and employee policies.
- Participate in job-related continuing education as required by the Executive Director or Administrator.
- Perform other duties as required by circumstances.
