Requirements
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining production data pipelines using orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or similar.
  • SQL experience including complex queries, optimization, and performance tuning across multiple database platforms.
  • Experience integrating data from sponsor software-as-a-service platforms and operational systems via application programming interfaces, including authentication, pagination, and rate limiting.
  • Experience working with semi-structured data such as JSON and XML from API responses and transforming it into structured datasets.
  • Experience developing robust API integrations with proper error handling and retry logic.
  • Experience working with systems that have limited documentation or vendor-specific data models.
  • Experience with dimensional modeling and data warehouse design patterns.
  • Proficiency in Python for data engineering, including work with data processing libraries.
  • Experience with cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including data services and infrastructure.
  • Experience implementing ETL/ELT processes from diverse data sources.
  • Experience with version control using Git and software engineering best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex data pipeline issues.
  • Experience implementing data quality checks and validation frameworks.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical data solutions.
  • A proven track record of delivering reliable, scalable data infrastructure.
  • US citizenship is required and will be verified to meet federal government security requirements.
  • An active U.S. Government Top Secret Security Clearance with a Full Scope Polygraph is required.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, optimize, and implement robust data infrastructure that enables reliable, accessible, and scalable data delivery.
  • Work collaboratively with data consumers, technical teams, leadership, and stakeholders to assess current data pipelines, identify gaps in data accessibility and reliability, and architect solutions that establish trusted data foundations.
  • Apply engineering best practices to implement data modeling and integration patterns, ensure data quality and observability throughout pipelines, and create maintainable infrastructure supporting analytics, reporting, and operational use cases.
  • Extract data from ServiceNow, NetIM, Forward Networks, and other operational systems through APIs, exports, and vendor-specific interfaces, and transform it into accessible, integrated datasets.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with ServiceNow APIs, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Experience with network management or information technology operations systems data extraction.
  • Experience with Forward Networks, NetIM, SolarWinds, or similar network management platforms.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Service Management, Information Technology Operations Management, and Configuration Management Database data structures and relationships.
  • Experience with API gateway platforms and API management tools.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, particularly PySpark, for distributed data processing.
  • Experience with dbt (data build tool) for transformation workflows.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience implementing continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines for data engineering code.
  • Knowledge of streaming data technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data quality platforms such as Great Expectations, Soda, or Monte Carlo.
  • Experience implementing data observability and monitoring solutions.
  • Knowledge of Data Vault or other advanced modeling methodologies.
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes for data workloads.
  • Experience with reverse extract, transform, load and operational analytics patterns.
  • Experience with data governance platforms and metadata management tools.
  • Experience with multiple cloud platforms and multi-cloud architectures.
  • Experience mentoring or leading data engineering initiatives.
